Their very first song - recorded late October 2010 - Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. The video was made (on a shoe string budget, they even had to borrow clothes for their costumes) nearly a year later. Doki Doki is onomatopoeic for a fast or excited heart beat. They've woken up late and are in a rush to get ready for school ... all the usual metal themes like what lip gloss to wear, getting their hair straight etc.

This song was their debut single which was released in 2011, so they'd have been 11,12 or 13 when released. Pretty sure Su (the singer) is now 23 and both the dancers are 22 (even though only Moe is still in the band, Yui left in 2018)
@Jordan-Ramses3 жыл бұрын
The song was recorded in Oct 2010. The music video was Oct 2011. So they'd be 13/12/12 in the music video. Su is a year and a half older so she's either 1 or 2 years older depending on time of year. She was 2 years ahead in school.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ "Doki Doki" is supposed to represent the sound of an excited heartbeat. This was their first single, music video, etc. It was this video blowing up on social media that helped BABYMETAL start to go viral, especially outside of Japan. The 'Doki Doki ☆ Morning' DVD single was released October 2011. Suzuka was thirteen, Yui and Moa were twelve. Su is now 23 (24 in December). Yui and Moa are 22. They recorded it a year before that. Their original budget was so small that Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's shirt was borrowed from Yui, and Yui's from fellow Sakura Gakuin student Raura. The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves. Pretty much everything that followed was because this video unexpectedly blew up.

This was their first video; at the time, I think they were 14, 12, and 12. This was years ago, however; I think they're all adults now, though being Japanese they won't *look* like adults until they get wrinkles. Personally, I like these early songs best, because they have more of those other-genre influences that made Babymetal unique. If I just wanted to listen to a Japanese metal girls band, I could listen to Yousei Teikoku, or Melt Banana, or a dozen others. But none of those groups do all the crazy stuff Babymetal did in the early days. My favorite song of theirs has always been iine, the second song they released.

I really love their newer stuff, too, like Distortion, Elevator Girl, Shanti Shanti Shanti; but also some earlier stuff like Sis. Anger [probably their heaviest track], Megitsune, Headbanger, and probably some others I'm forgetting.
