And this is why _Far Beyond Driven_ was their most popular album at the time. They replaced their "thrashy" sounds for pure groove, and it portrays the band at their peak. Too bad the band's turmoil started after this, when Phil became more and more addicted to (IIRC) heroin, causing tensions between the band members. Anyway, I love the close-ups of Dimebag playing his guitar. Heck, I like actual performance videos as a whole. Recommendations: * Fear Factory - Replica/Resurrection (album version)/Fear Campaign/Dielectric * Sodom - Agent Orange/Silence Is Consent/Among The Weirdcong/Stigmatized * Iced Earth - Dante's Inferno/Something Wicked Trilogy (Prophecy/Birth of The Wicked/The Coming Curse)/Gettysburg Trilogy (Devil To Pay/Hold At All Cost/High Water Mark) * Rhapsody (Of Fire) - Emerald Sword/Holy Thunderforce/Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness/Unholy Warcry (Extended Version)

I listen to Obituary... I listen to Cannibal Corpse and Hateplow... to Lamb of God and Unearth... to Throwdown and Terror... to Toxic Holocaust and Slayer... Pantera is still the heaviest. I've never listened to Bolt Thrower but I sampled a couple tracks at your suggestion and yes, they are heavy, but there's a weight to Pantera's songs (from the Vulgar and Driven albums) that have not been matched, no matter how low Korn wants to drop-tune their 7-string or how deep other vocalists growl. I know this is only an opinion so I'm not saying this as fact, but I've been listening to some form or another of heavy music for the last 30 years and no band I've listened to has the heaviness of Pantera during that 2 album run. Some songs are heavier vocally or others heavier musically but Pantera has a depth of heaviness throughout each of their songs (even This Love) that is often imitated but never duplicated (see: Throwdown post Keith Barney vocals). We can agree to disagree because in the end, heavy music is awesome and as long as they keep making it, we'll keep listening to it.

Pantera is still amazing after all these years. Another band I would recomend that I havne't seen you react to is Suicidal Tendencies, I would start with the song You Can't Bring Me Down.

Heck yeah, one of my first Pantera songs! Also the opening to this video had me rolling 😂😂😂 and it's funny that you put a SpongeBob clip in here because, if you didn't know, Pantera wrote some music for a SpongeBob episode 😂😂 and the part about Phil Being intense, you're completely right. Don't know much about Rex to be totally honest, but Dime and Vinnie weren't really very intense, from what I've gathered Dime was like a big kid and Vinnie was really kind and friendly, Phil was the intense one

I went to the Mayhem fest that both Trivium, and Disturbed performed. Of course they were not the only bands. The line up included the Anarchist, Suicide Silence, Kingdom of Sorrow, Godsmack, and Megadeth. Damn good show.
