Corey Taylor has explained that the lyrics inspired by a period during which he was homeless, living under a bridge in his hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. "'Left Behind' is a song about a time of my life that was really hard - I was homeless ... it's funny how many people you meet when you're homeless ... you find out so much about them, and you rely on them so much, and then when things start happening for you, those faces disappear and they're gone," concluding that the song is "about leaving behind the lives that make up your past” and that my friend is what the song is about 👍🏻

Fun fact for you Alex: I don't know if you are aware but the dreads coming out of Corey's mask, is his actual hair. He used to have long hair and then, he shaved his head, turned his hair into dreadlocks and glued them on the mask :P Also, a couple of suggestions: -Korn: "Falling away from me", "Freak on a leash" or "A different world" (they sing this with Corey! :D ) -Rammstein: "Feuer frei" or "Ohne dich". Whoever is reading this comment, thanks and have a great day :)

From what I heard, the song is indeed from people that slip away from you. Corey wrote this about the people he met, when he was homeless. He formed a strong bond with them on the street, but since he made the jump to a more stable life, he lost them. To a point where he doesn´t even know if they are still alive or dead.

It's important to remember that when Slipknot features something being buried or placed in the ground in a music video, it is usually a memory or person from their past. In this case it was Corey being homeless and how he lost communication with the people who helped him through it. PS. Check out Otep please! "Blood Pigs" is a good place to start.

I'm not going to say it transformed my life or anything, it just felt welcoming and i felt recognised, also the kid in the music video looks exactly like a friend i had at the time. This and Clown by Korn are very important songs to me. But fast forward to 2018, i'd love if you checked out Toska - Congress.

Two of the most iconic Slipknot scenes for my are in this video. First, Clown ripping his skull apart with his bare hands. And secondly, Craig "blowing" his nose.

Are my comments being read by anyone? Please, react to The Shift by Eye Of The Enemy... Not so many know this band so I don't think this comment will ever get some likes for you to actually react to this song... To bad...

Dude I totally enjoy your reaction vids! I think you'd really appreciate one of Slipknot's darker songs - Skin Ticket. You should watch one of the live ones (the one in Tokyo from 2016 is a good video) since Corey puts on an AMAZING emotional performance that goes with the song.
