From what I heard, the song is indeed from people that slip away from you. Corey wrote this about the people he met, when he was homeless. He formed a strong bond with them on the street, but since he made the jump to a more stable life, he lost them. To a point where he doesn´t even know if they are still alive or dead.

This song is so important to me, i was 12/13 the early years of secondary school, being bullied a lot, back then a lot of nu-metal touched on bullying whether in the lyrics or in the music videos so i latched onto it immediately. I'm not going to say it transformed my life or anything, it just felt welcoming and i felt recognised, also the kid in the music video looks exactly like a friend i had at the time. Dude I totally enjoy your reaction vids! I think you'd really appreciate one of Slipknot's darker songs - Skin Ticket. You should watch one of the live ones (the one in Tokyo from 2016 is a good video) since Corey puts on an AMAZING emotional performance that goes with the song.
