This may be the best fundamental :Getting the club to ride.After that first burst to initiate the downswing,letting the club ride lets so many things just fall into place without “messing it up “. Really confirmed what I was thinking. Thanks Dan.

I have watched about 10 of your videos so far and I think you are the best at explaining the swing, better than anyone I have ever seen. I have had lessons from Phil Ritson and a few others and watched thousands of videos by many different Pros, but yours are the best. I am a good golfer when my hips are good, but they have been replaced and are 26(Right hip) and 19(left hip) years old, I cannot swing without a lot of pain. Dreaming of the day they get rereplaced. I've won tournaments in high school and college, but my hips went out before I could do my best, but I've taught in the past and worked at different Golf Courses. I think you are fantastic and I sure thank Be Better Golf for introducing you to us. And thank you for your videos, I am going to watch them all. God bless you and continue in your excellent videos. Thank you.

@@danmartingolf You're welcome. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona and the hot climate is so much better on my legs than the cold, so I like it here. I played in a couple events in California years ago and the I am hoping that we can meet one day when the new hips are working. I know my swing won't be too far from where it should be with the help of your videos. Thanks again. God bless you.

I agree, Dan is the best I have seen in his breakdowns of the swing. I have been a Pro for a long time, but I have artificial hips and they are 26 and 19 years old, but I am dreaming about swinging when I get them redone. Just great tp someone explaining the swing like no one I have ever seen.

Great video, Dan. I own The Pro and it really helps me feel how to ride along in the swing to the finish, after the initial power transfer from the lower body.

This is very good. The early use of the hips seem to put every thing in motion. And as de la torre and mehlhornhorn say “once the initial move is started just leave it alone” and enjoy the ride.

When a friend sent me a video of a pro explaining the way Bryson swings as the "one plane" system (and, of course you should buy into that system and his training) , you commented that it wasn't the swing system, it was the proper sequencing and the strength that really aided Bryson. To quote you, "Bryson uses pressure into the ground so much better than he used to and thus is able to generate more speed into the pelvis. If you amp up the pelvis, then every other part of the swing gains speed as long as you transfer angular momentum efficiently." "All Tour Pros are great at swinging! Learn the PRO then ANY method preference will work for you!" I would love to have you do a video on this thought because it would help so many of us understand that it isn't a "method" it is learning the proper sequencing. The difference between Bryson, Matthew Wolf, is certainly evidence, but many of your students (and me) would like you to weigh in more. Your explanations are always so spot on. Thanks!

Dan, so essentially after the starting hip turn lowers the hands, you are essentially starting the release of the club at essentially what Dan Alton Golf calls the "fold point"?
@danmartingolf
@danmartingolf Жыл бұрын
Not familiar with Alton, but yes that’s a good way to perceive it. This video is pretty old and I would describe things a bit differently. I now would say that the inertia from rotation is extending your arms and the club under the fall of gravity. Your hips really aren’t actively rotating, but they are moving as a part of the total rotating system of your body and the club. They club doesn’t really release but it unfolds as a result of rotation. The trick is to leave it alone without trying to add a torque or force to speed it up. The extending of the radius of rotation is the speed and is what is mislabeled as “release”

Dan, I have been considering purchasing The Pro swing trainer but I wanted to ask you something first. I have a SkillZ training aid that is much like the orange whip. Is The Pro any different than this and if so, how? Thanks for any information as I have used the SkillZ for about 3 years now and really I've seen no benefit from it overall.

The PRO is nothing like whippy or heavy flexible trainers. The PRO is only useful if you really want to understand the true physics of the golf motion. This is why I only sell it now with coaching. And, yes, other than a fitness tool, the heavy trainers really don't do much for understanding and correctly perceiving a golf motion. Thanks!
