Back in the early 80’s, I was the first person I knew of who would routinely hit this throw while defending a single takedown (wrestling). Once my opponent secured my leg, and lifted it off the mat, I’d secure a wizzer (please people, stop calling it a wizard, smh) with my right arm and reach across with my left to grab his bicep. Before he knew what happened, he’d be on his back counting the lights. With proficiency, the amplitude can be amazing and is one of the most aesthetically glamorous throws possible.

Could you please clarify which byceps do you grab with your left arm and how you throw him afterwards?

Can you clarify if your leg was tucked between his legs or shelved up so that the throw is exactly like demonstrated here? It sounds like you could also be describing an elevator/gator bacon (goes by many different names) but I don’t want to assume without asking

Another reason to go higher up on the arm is if you grab the wrist he can duck under the far side. Controlling above the elbow the duck under is almost impossible for the underhook to duck under far side.

Leg should hit the shin/ankle, not the thigh. Not hating, just saying :) Great video!

I admit, some of my throws were a bit too high on the thigh in regards to the sweeping leg. But typically you see around the knee for Harai Goshi.

It's a sweeping hip throw you go hamstring to thigh.
