I just realized something: in the game intro, Mr. Dark is portrayed looking through binoculars. in the level select, everything is viewed through what seems to be a pair of binoculars... Dark has been watching you the whole time.

@@187Wretched it took me like 10 days to beat every single souls like game by Fromsoftware (individually) and i'm not even close from beating Rayman 1. I mean... Dark Souls or Bloodborne or Sekiro are hard but quite fair games... Rayman 1 is just sadistic... Popping enemies randomly, multiple attacks in extremely narrow areas that forces you to be milimetrically precise to dodge them, very weird and fast platform movement patterns...cruel live system that obliges you to ration your death count or beggining the whole sick levels from the start... Rayman is actually one of the hardest games out there, and even though Soul like games are popular because of difficulty there's no even point of comparison, Rayman can be labeled as unfair and machiavellian.

@@hidude1130 well, how about giving Rayman Redemption a shot? It's a remake/reimagining of the original, made by one person, during 3 years. It has new levels, more content, new worlds, and a better learning curve, as in "Now you won't lose half of your lives on Allegro Presto!". The game has better level design overall, and it's a lot more fair.

This game simultaneously colored and ruined my childhood. Like you, Moskito ruined everything. Until I became older, beat that guy, and was able to advance all the way to the apparent end. Also because there's a code to give you 10 continues that you could use every time you're at the continue screen. And I got there *so many times*. It was only then that I realized you need EVERY SINGLE CAGE. No continues in the world could help me with that, as some of them are literally impossible to get without exploits, cause there are some problems in the PS1 version. I have not yet beat this game legit to this day. Got a level code for the final stage, and it's freaking sweet. Such a shame that it's blocked off by such a cheap game design decision.
@LunarRoot7 жыл бұрын
Getting all the cages is quite the challenge, I agree, but I have played this game on the PS1 and, as far as I'm aware, it's totally possible to legitimately beat it without resorting to any kind of exploits. Unless there are differences between copies for the same platform... But the one I had was just fine. Yes, getting to know that I needed to break all the cages was quite disappointing at first to me too. But looking back at the overall experience that I had with this game, it was a good exercise in perseverance. Also, personally, I think that freeing all the Electoons gives an unusually heroic touch to this game, and the final encounter with Mr. Dark became way more epic after struggling with the rest of the stages for about 3 years.

I completed the PS1 game without cheats.
