The world premiere performance of the 'His Dark Materials Medley' as part of the BBC Proms: Fantasy, Myths and Legends, performed live from the Royal Albert Hall, London, on August 28, 2023.
Music by Lorne Balfe.
Orchestrated by Bernard Duc.
Conducted by Anna-Maria Helsing.
Performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Huddersfield Choral Society.
There are many people who don't have access to BBC content or BBC iPlayer, so I have uploaded this magnificent and beautifully moving medley because it deserves to be witnessed and heard by everyone around the world.
Lorne Balfe is a legend and a genius, and the themes he included into this medley are some of his most iconic pieces from the popular television series 'His Dark Materials'. He is able to evoke profound feelings and emotions with just one note from one instrument, let alone the entire orchestra, be it power, longing, love, or hope. I dare you not to feel or be moved by these themes...it is quite impossible, especially if you are a fan of 'His Dark Materials' or Lorne Balfe's music.

Omg this show was amazing. I cried at the end. Such a masterpeice to the books. I wish more studios would honor the books when making movies and shows.

Thank you for making the playlist! I thought I might be the only one who absolutely loves the score, especially season 3. It really is a shame more people haven't listened to the soundtrack (at least on KZbin), because it's a masterpiece IMO.

Such a pity the sound isn't mixed very well. It lacks some depth despite the many microphones or it might be because of a re-upload, still great piece!
