Comparison of the season 1 and season 2 opening credits. The HDM opening is probably my favourite ever made for television and I'm looking forward to watching the adaption of The Subtle Knife, my favourite of the trilogy!

The first part remained unchanged, while the second part goes as follows: E quorum artifcio 'Subtilis cultellus' nomen And then on top of the "Incipite, Incipite" at the end they overlayed "Cultelle, Cultelle"

Notice that in Season 2 in that never ending stair thing, Lyra is on the left and Will on the right, but it's the other way around in S2?

I felt the same way about the books. Northern Lights (The Golden Compass) was good, but The Subtle Knife is when I really became addicted to these novels. The Amber Spyglass instantly became my favorite book of all time, so if the show follows that trend, we’re in for a treat with Season 3.

I know it's silly, but it bothers me a little bit that the aspect ratio is different between the two seasons. That should be the type of thing that stays consistent between seasons.

Well there are the long-running shows that started in early 2000s and went on until late 2000s or before and those *have* to change the format from 4:3 to 16:9
