As a note, Hisense doesn’t enable peak performance out of the two high-end HDMI 2.1 ports right out of the box. You do need to go through the settings and enable maximum bandwidth on those in order to get high resolution and high framerate

Yes, it needs to be in enhanced mode, but should auto switch when it gets an HDR signal, but also best to double check. Go to the HDMI menu on the main screen and manually switch if it doesn't do it automatically.

@@ptheledge5390 i have a video on my channel, go to settings, channels and inputs, inputs, hdmi format, go to the right and make the hdmi all enhanced, and if you have a xbox pc or ps5 you can plug that in so you can turn on enhanced 140hz on hdmi 3 and 4, you must plug the devices in 3 and 4 to do so

which size of panel are you using the settings for? my understanding is the 65 and 75 inch use different panels so will give different results.

Just purchased the 75U7K but I do not see the Backlight Setting as you are showing under any content? Is it a software / firmware thing or am I missing something?

What he fails to mention is, that 75" U7K is an IPS panel. Unless you are in a room with full lights on and the sun as your roommate, you'd never recommend an IPS panel. Maybe if you watch your television from the side constantly as well. As VT says, "I don't know about you, but I like to watch my TV from the front to see it.". Before you get into OLED and even Micro-LED, a VA panel is the inky way to go. The fact that you and he didn't do the research to realize that the 75" is the onky IPS panel. The reasoning behind this is: The 55" and 65" are usually able to be viewed from the proper angles and hence, are VA panels. When you go bigger, it usually means that you entertain more humans watching and its tougher to get a front on view. The 85" was added later on in the model cycle year and they had VA panels left at Hisense. That's why the 85" has a VA panel and had to jump drastically in dimming zones.

Thank you for another great video, I just purchased the Hisense U8K , would these settings also be the same as this U7K? The menu looks identical , but the Australian U8K just released 2 weeks ago here has a full length of the screen sound bar built in and a rear sub woofer and rear up firing speaker . We do not have the two rear side speakers like on the UK and US model. The only other difference is Australia got the metal centre stand which I prefer over the two legs on the UK and US versions. I still can't figure out why they don't just make the same model world wide .

Yes, as we are using Filmmaker Mode in our settings video and out of the box settings, these can transfer to the U8K. I have a U8K on the way for review next week.

thanks, I was confused when my Hisense U7K auto switched to a filmmaker mode with a cool colour mode when i watched some Dolby vision content., not sure why. I guess Dolby vison dark is what it was meant to switch to.

i have Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K MAX plug in to Yamaha RX-S602 and when i play something with Dolby Vision on Netflix (like Locke & Key) i can`t chose Dolby Vision picture modes :/ I have Standard FILMAKER and HDR modes to chose.... Any solutions ?

Hi, please can anyone here help me with my hisense a7 model picture mode setting. I'm struggling to understand what is the best picture setting for my hisense model when selecting dynamic, standard or enhanced and the colour tuner. It's just really confusing to make it to look like it is playing 4k hd, trying to watch top action movie such as Avatar way of Water on Disney plus Dolby custom but I don't understand what is the best choice for colour tuner.

Does the tv have an issue with screen size aka aspect ratio? I'm from the US and have a U8K and every time I make a selection 16:9, zoom, etc it doesn't change it stays at Wide with whatever I select.

@@avforums Just this week somehow, someway, HiSense locked alot of the picture settings adjustability on my HiSense U8K 55 inch tv. Certain adjustments brightness, contrast, etc... are now locked in certain picture modes....Why they would do this I have no clue...When I click on them it literally says "Unavailable"...I'm in the U.S. and this is unacceptable...Why would you have calibration tools on the TV if your going to lock them out making them unuseable???

@@petedetraglia4776 "I'm in the U.S. and this is unacceptable" - This explains everything :D ...anyways, certain modes will lock certain settings, that's how TVs work. Try different modes and settings and see how it affects the available options.

Mine neither ..... Playing HD or 4K through Netflix I get the same Picture Mode menu.... Standard ... enhanced (ACR)... Filmmaker.....Cinema Day ... Cinema Night .... Dynamic.... Sports. This is the same menu no matter what channel I have the TV on...?

As others have said, menu layout is completely different. Perhaps different software version being used.

​@xxgg he using the uk version that uses the vidaa os. I assume you have the US version which uses the Google os which has a different menu set up.

@AVForums, Please explain the best Picture setting for watching Sports mainly like Cricket. When Ball moves faster on Ground then it is not that much smooth, I can feel many balls on fast moving scenes, even after I have changed the Motion setting to Smooth. Please suggest.

I just compare prices in US vs UK. UK version is 100% MORE EXPENSIVE !!! They look different, remote controls and OS (Android vs VIDAA) are different. Again, this is completely different and extremly more expensive model for EU and UK. Phil i really hope that you adress this issue in your full review and suggest peope to avoid this brand or suggest that if someone really want their TV's it will be better and way cheaper to order and import from USA.

I got this tv other day and I find hdr mode so dark in every mode when I bought it it says it’s 900 nits. But hdr is worse than my 2018 tv I have changed hdmi to enhanced done all them things even hdr on my Apple TV the new generation looks so bad even sky hdr is so dark I don’t understand it surely a 900nits tv would be brighter than what’s offered I have maxed out tv and still looks dark for a test

Same here. Watching cricket the other on sky in UHD. Got a better picture on the cricket HD channel. Like you said UHD the screen was so dark and couldn't make it brighter.

Yea for a 900 nit tv it ain’t that great even Dolby vision looks like crap I watched 30 mins of Arsenal game last night on hdr and it was like someone had turned lights out on tv no colours whatsoever looked washed out and terrible.and I had sat trying to get right picture nothing I did was any good and hdr plus ain’t much better on my Apple TV why do these company’s seem to release TVs with dark pictures Netflix same it’s unwatchable cause it looks washed out might have to pack it all in and send it back but for me it ain’t doing it for me this tv

There's just so many different settings. Haven't found one yet that's right for all programs. Have to constantly keep going into TV settings to change things depending on what I'm watching. Maybe this is what you have to do with these new modern TV's. Bit of a faff about though.

Dolby iq is broken, it washes everything out dark or doing a custom setting is the best way to go about it, if you have a bright room, definitely use custom

This TV is so fkn bright it hurts my eyes. Netflix subtitles are too bright and you can’t adjust it. Also the home screen. There is no way you can adjust brightness in general, just the brightness for the input content. It is making me nuts. Anyone have some advice?

My mood is horrible also. Oh, mode. The cinema mode is supposedly better. Filmaker mode looks like "ass" because it's for dark room viewing and the most accurate of the "Filmaker's" intent. Wr live in a world of la la la cartoon vivid colors and don't watch 4K Ultra High quality content almost ever. .00000000001% of content is 4K at full resolution. No, streaming at 4K isn't really 4K. HDR 10 and Dolby Vision at full 4K, again is almost never seen on a TV. I always go with Filmaker mode qnd brighten plus make it slightly more vivid. Filmaker mode is the baseline for Ultra accuracy on a TV. Unless you have a Sony HX310 Mastering (over 30 thousand dollars) Monitor, don't ever listen to these most accurate settings on KZbin. He also recommends Dolby IQ? Any person that recommends auto light settings as an option, shouldn't be suggesting settings.

I use theater day mode when I calibrated my Hisense U8K...Picture pops, black levels are great, contrast is great, colors are as close to perfect as I could get them...Film maker mode may be more accurate but all colors look dull and unappealing...I set my color space to BT2020 and colors look like wet paint...

uh....sorry but film maker mode is sooooooo bad on this tv and should be only used for higher quality panels. This TV definitely needs the theater mode settings instead of Film Maker mode. Film Maker mode is great on better panels but I think this TV can do without Film Maker mode as the picture is only 600 nits out of the box and film Maker mode makes the TV really hard to see as it's not really implemented well for this set
