How Star Wars Should Have Ended (Special Edition). Years ago the classic Star Wars HISHE caught the eye of the internet and was the episode that launched our channel into life. It holds a very special place in our hearts. But as the years passed we started seeing requests for a "special edition" since the original didn't quite match the style of our later HISHE episodes. And since it's Star Wars season, we thought now would be a fun time to give the old episode the George Lucas updates she deserves. Enjoy!

That's not how hyperspace travel works in Star Wars, though. :/ You can only travel to specific points in a route (the "weak points" in space/time), since all jumps are automaticly calculated by the ship, and not using the hyperspace lanes is way too dangerous, so there are safety measures so ships don't actually do those small jumps. It is kind of "hey, we have to get to the street parallel to this one, and we are kind of in a hurry. Meh, just run through the building, what could possibly go wrong?" I doubt anybody would take a 95% chance of actually destroying the death star just to get to where they are going half an hour earlier. :/

villanelo1987 the movies don't say that and remember the expanded universe is not canon so you can't use it to explain points. Based in the movies, specially TFA you can go at lightspeed wherever you want to go, only limited by the pilot's skills. If Chewie could land the Millennium Falcon at lightspeed, it is not crazy to think the Death Star's pilots can get it at 100,000 miles from that moon. (100,000 miles is half the distance between Earth and our moon. That is why I said that number.)

To keep the canon with the prequel and the original trilogy, George Lucas at the end of Revenge of the Sith added the line "we'll wipe the droids' memory" which is one of the cheapest ways to make it canon. If R2 and C3PO didn't have "their memories wiped" they would have remembered Obi Wan, Darth Vader and of course Luke Skywalker. They should really remake the prequels because George Lucas seemed to forget the fun stuff he threw in the original trilogy but basically threw everything what has to happen leading up to the Original Trilogy. about the princess leia not transmitting the death star plans i think rogue one made it especially clear that the size of the data alone is not possible to be transmitted by a ship as small as millennium falcon they needed the antenna the size like in scariff base. Thanks to Rogue One? No way, everyone who actually saw the original (and paid attention!) knew this right from the getgo. First during Vaders interrogation of the commander: he clearly tells him that the Empire is after transmissions that were intercepted by the ship. Then he tells Leia: "Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by rebel spies". Doesn't all that make it plain out obvious that the Empire was capable of tracking the destination of any transmissions? Obviously Leia realized that the very moment she would transmit the plans the Empire could track them and immediately learn the location of the rebel base. It's all right there, in the original movie, yet most people glossed right over it.

And no, you can use an attack of greater power but to do that you'd have to charge up your power which your opponent would be able to sense and prepare to counter against. Force users just possess a far great abundance of energy in comparison to non Force users. And the shields themselves are not expending energy by being there, only when they're diminishing the energy of an attack. Yes, it is. It's not something they need to focus on after a certain point, as I mentioned it's passive and they don't have to actively think about it after extensive training. Regardless the Force is stated to increase the mental capacity of the user, something like perception ( both mental and sight ) are increased greatly. Force users have survived direct hits by blaster bolts before.

***** No that was not the reason they used lightsabers. The reason they used lightsabers because they were the best weapons for a Jedi's abilities. Palpatine uses Force lightning because it's a Sith ability that can only be used if you tap into the Darkside of the Force. Jedi have a version called electric judgement. You can shield yourself it's just that for the most part these shields won't completely protect you and they drain energy quickly when actively defending against attacks.
