We all wrestle with our faith. We all doubt our salvation or even God and the existing of God sometimes. It doesn't take us away from God as His children. God understand that we are dust. We are imperfect fleshy beings. God has the mercy and grace all we need through Christ Jesus to help us. In this temporary setting we are struggling with the world, the flesh, and the Devil and his hoards. Thank God for the Holy Spirit. It is not about us but God.

“What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even if we cannot see it up ahead” Hebrews 11:1 God wants faith. You believe through faith. And faith is believing without seeing. Without physical proof. You can’t see god, but you can feel him. That is the proof. You don’t feel him physically, he touches your heart. You don’t see him physically, you see what he does through you and people. And the best part is, the Bible says if you have just a teeny tiny drop of faith, as small as a mustard seed, you could tell a mountain to move and it will. He doesn’t require a lot of faith. He needs just enough to show you who he is, and that he is very real. So don’t lose faith cuz your lack of faith. He only needs a drop.

Something my youth pastor said recently really hit me. He was talking about this verse and the two key words he said to look at were (a different version) The "substance" of things hoped for, the "evidence" of things unseen. Those two words seem to imply there is more to our faith then wishful thinking. Those two words are normally used in the context of a court hearing. Our faith isnt a fleeting feeling or a wishful dream. Theres something there, some evidence, that is the foundation and builds up a case for God's existence. My pastor told me it was God's word, the surety of His promises, that are the very thing we have hope in. God is consistent and honors His word and promises. We see it all throughout the timeline of the Bible and all of history. Idk I hope that makes sense, do with this as you will.

My reasons for doubting God’s existence are primarily from what I have stumbled upon on the internet. Pretty much anything atheists say towards us christians, fighting to the end trying to disprove every religion and deity. I’ve heard people make good points from their opinions and arguments and it really makes me think. Not a good thing at all. I've done so much research to the point where I’m more of an agnostic than an actual believer, or in between. I really really want to believe in God, I do but I feel like my faith is doomed, but at the same time I want to be at the point to where I NEVER have these doubts again. I always wake up with these feelings. I’m only 16 and I have NEVER been more terrified of dying because of the feelings that I may be wrong about the afterlife, and fears that I might die pretty soon. It would be underwhelming and a complete slap-in-the-face for there to be nothing but an empty, dark, eternal oblivion after what we have went through our entire lives. I still have beliefs but I’m at the point where I’m not certain about God’s existence. I want to keep a humble faith in God but at the same time I want to be absolutely certain that God is the truth. I’m always questioning myself and my religion and it’s not a good feeling. My best advice for those questioning their faith is NOT to look up much on the internet about it. That’s why I am where I am. If anyone is actually reading this then please keep me in your prayers. I just wanted to get this off my chest

Sabrina.C Forever one thing that really helped me when dealing with doubts: realizing that it's not about "trying harder" or anything like that. But actually the opposite: dying to my old life and letting Christ live in me! This is something we have to do again and again everyday. Awesome video! Part of the video spoke to before I became saved. I thought I was okay with God but was drowning in sin and wasn't even going to church for a long time. I was watching pornography(had lusted and watched some form of pornography for at least 30 years), and committing sexual immorality. How could I think I was saved and do this? It is easy for someone to fool themselves. I had a night that I almost died and it made me take a REAL look at myself and see how lost I was. I was absolutely terrified and vowed to do right that night, but I didn't put my full trust in God to save me, and wondered at that time if it was even possible, so of course I went back like a dog to its vomit and repeated my sins. I hadn't been truly transformed because I hadn't truly given myself over to God and trusted Him COMPLETELY. I had another scare and had to fight really hard after that to overcome my fear and have faith. All my life, in spite of my great sin, God was continually working to accomplish His purpose in my life. Once I truly put my trust in Him and His ability and willingness to change me, He began to. I haven't looked at pornography since. I first had to be careful--and I still am--to FLEE from temptation as though from a burning building. You can't play with sin OR fire. Over time, God has changed me until I now am able to not lust after women I see--it is as though I have been put beyond their power to entice me to some extent. I am still careful to guard my mind, avert my eyes if a woman is wearing anything that exposes a lot, and avoid watching things that I know will tempt me, but I have experienced a true change that has made me finally able to understand how Jesus was able to walk on this earth and NEVER commit a sexual sin(or any sin). He is able to give us victory over our sins through His sinlessness. The other part of the video that speaks to me NOW is how you can face doubts(even though you are saved and God said He will never leave you or forsake you)--especially when you are not pursuing God diligently and are focusing too much on worldly things. I want to do whatever I have to do to stay close to God so that those doubts don't creep in and so I can be effective and fruitful and God can continue to make me who I am supposed to be. Praise God!!! I hope that God blesses you as He has me.

i read something that made me doubt God a lot. it lasted for a day but it was really bad. i’d put on worship songs, and i’d think of it as just another song and that scared me. i’d watch christian tiktoks, videos, etc. and i was interested but i didn’t have that feeling that i used to have. i’d watch a video and if someone used blasphemy, i’d turn it off and usually i’d cringe like all the time but i didn’t. and it’s over now, i still and always will believe, but now i don’t see God the same. i still love Him and i’m working on our relationship but this is hard. 💔🙁

Idk, I don’t like to think about it because I have anxiety. Does that mean I’m not really saved? Well, I’ve seen God work in my life and in me, so despite my anxiety, I believe I am saved. Anxiety can make you believe it will never be enough. It was never on us to be enough, though. Jesus already took care of that. That frees us to do real good without worrying about if it’s gonna be good enough for God when we get to heaven.

I guess the reasons I have doubt is because 1 . Things don't work out my way. 2. I see good things happening to people who are bad in my judgment and vice versa. 3. I am confused as to run behind the world or run behind God cause I feel these both contradict to a great extent. 4. For me it's hard to believe if I don't see. 5. Hi there, I know it is a year after your questions but I hope this finds you well. One thing I've learned in my journey with God is that things aren't supposed to go 'my' way but to submit my ways to His. May we never condense God to who/what we *want* Him to be in our lives. Truly letting Jesus Christ into your life to be your standard of Truth, Love, Direction, Morals, etc. will reveal how all things in life ultimately leads to Him. The world is filled with brokenness and sin, so trying to find satisfaction among shreds of glass will hurt in the long run. As for your last point, remember: Faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26). We bring our prayers and supplications to God in humility and humbleness, trusting and knowing that He will lead to where are meant to be- however to be led, we have move in the spaces God guides us. Aj Jingco Are you reading scripture? Truth over feelings, my friend!! You gotta know the Word to know the truth vs lie AND truth vs ALMOST truth (still a lie but less obvious) You can read scripture and it will prompt your prayers. For example, 1 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind. Prayer: Lord, thank you that you have not given me a spirit of fear but of POWER and love and a sound mind. Please continually remind me I do not have a spirit of fear but of power. Or Galatians 5:22-23 the fruits of the spirit, you pray and ask God to help you nurture and grow those qualities. Prayers don’t need to be lengthy. It can be “Jesus make me more aware of your presence.” Just start storing up verses. If you’ve never read the Bible before it’s okay... start in the gospel of John or in 1 John (two different books). Write verses down that jump out at you so you can store them in your heart. Holy Spirit will remind you of what you’ve learned when you need it - for yourself or others. Sometimes we pray then forget to listen because we talk the whole time. I used to think God didn’t care if I didn’t read the Bible. He does! That’s where His truth is! The word is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword! If you don’t have a Bible you can download an app called youversion and you can read it for free. Or you can read it online at biblegateway. You can watch videos on KZbin by the Bible project... just get your mind in God’s word, I promise it will not disappoint and you won’t feel like you’re praying to the air. You’ll feel like you’re praying to the God who shuts the mouths of lions and breathes out stars by the breath of His mouth, who enhabits eternity and those who have a contrite spirit... who is the same yesterday today and forever!! I learned all these things about Him from reading His Word. You’ll start to KNOW He’s listening because you’ll know His character and that will be more important than feelings because those are fleeting and notoriously unreliable.

Briah Ariel that whisper is the devil. But let me ask you, are you praying and reading the bible daily ? Are you walking in repentance and obedience ? God doesn’t ask for perfection, but he desires us to have a pure heart that desires to follow him & know him. Our feelings shouldn’t dictate our beliefs, but rather the truth. Ephesians 6 shows us there is a spiritual battle going on behind what we can see .

the founder of the Roman church taught that. It's a Roman Catholic doctrine, inherited by the Re-formers. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. That verse is from Ezekiel 18. That whole chapter is really good.

He talks about Jehovah answering prayers and communicating to him, but clearly he doesn't answer every prayer, and he doesn't communicate to everyone. I don't know what makes Chan so special Yahweh sees fit to alleviate his doubts with evidence of his existence. When doubts are not alleviated, the appropriate thing to do is stop being a Christian/theist until such time as God reveals himself like he does to Chan whenever Chan asks.

Like Mr Chan, I have doubted the existence of God. My doubts began in 1963 and are with me to this day. Actually, 'doubt' is the wrong word. I have never believed in the existence of God. Sure, it's a very comforting belief to have. It gives hope. That's why it's so popular. But is the Gospel story really true? Not in my book, it isn't. So when I die in the not-to-distant future, that will be the end of me forever. And you will, sooner or later, embrace that eternal oblivion with me. Not a cheerful thought - just reality.

John Craske I don't know how much you have studied the historical authenticity of the gospels or anything like that. But I know for me that knowing the historical truth of scripture was a huge step for me in faith. I'd love to give you some resources on it if you'd like!! The Bible and the gospels are honestly accurate, I know because at one time I wanted them to be false and they were found to be true. And I appreciate your honesty with your comment here! I'm not shoving gospel I promise, haha. I just wanted you to know that if you wanna know that you know truth I'd love to help you! the thing to believe in reality might work for some ,sure it does but it didnt for me , I was weak perhaps, like imagine how many are those out there weaker and timid in mind and spirit, Christ is exactly for them, all I can say to you sir is I shall pray that God show up to you somehow before you go to grave .

I'd rather live in a fantasy world where I believe MY God loves me and find out he doesn't exist, than live without him and find out he does indeed exist. It terrifies me to no end to have to hear those four little words " I never knew you". Eternity sure is a long time. Are you absolutely sure you want to take that chance? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Please I beg of you....rethink this. Find God before it's too late. Despite what you think He does exist....and he hasn't forgotten you. Josh Lema Things don't have to be scientifically proven before they become true, science is often proven wrong and replaced by better science, science is always progressing. Religion on the other hand thinks it knows all the answers and has stopped looking, it's stagnant it's backwards it's outdated and it won't ever question itself to realise it, because questioning is doubting and doubting is frowned upon in religious circles. Science just points to the best possible explanation by using information which it has access to "at the time" we may find more information in the future and use it to come to a different conclusion about the nature of reality but until then we can only work with what we've got and I can only accept that it's the best explanation at this point.
