I took a phycology class in school last year and my teacher is also one of the history teachers at the school and one day towards the end of the year, this kid in my class says “Hey Mr. (teachers name), you like history right?” Then he told the teacher about Sabaton and that’s how I heard of them from the first time but I will forever associate them with a kid in my class asking the history teacher if he likes history. It was so funny 😂

5:56 Well, technically Panzers is not the German word for tank. It is Panzer in singular and plural. The s probably got added, because it is common for plural in English. And conveys the meaning better if you ask me, because where does tank come from? Water (etc) tanks, to confuse the Germans should they read the reports about them being send to their first deployment etc. Panzer meanwhile is for example the name for the shell of a turtle or for armor plating that covers your body like the knights had. Other example: Armored plating is Panzerung in German

I'm glad the eye surgery went well. This was another collaboration with World of Tanks, and there is a Sabaton themed tank in WoT (I think Centurion-based, but don't quote me on that). Overall, it is a great and unusual parallel to have drawn, which in retrospect seems fairly obvious. Tanks are very much the modern equivalent of the knights in plate armour with 1 horsepower propulsion! Tina Guo is a world-renowned cellist and has played with Sabaton before, and I have heard rumours to the effect that she may even be joining them as a permanent member. I very much hope they are accurate!

The cello player is world renowned artist Tina Guo. If you watch movies and play games you have most likely heard her work and not even known it. She has worked with Hans Zimmer a lot and has been part of over 60 movies, short films, and video games. She has done music for a lot of movies going back to 2007 including movies like Predators, Iron Man 2, Battle: Los Angeles, Clash of Titans, Fast Five, X-Men: First Class, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. the Strv K Sabaton has in this video is based on a blueprint tank developed in the early 1950s called "EMIL" or "Kranvagn" to be manufactured by Bofors Landsverk, to be using similar oscillating turret design as the french AMX-13 tanks but much better armoured. the hull was basically downsized IS-3 hull and turret was basically a upsized AMX-13 turret and with a powerful diesel engine from Volvo, slightly improved variant of the engines used in the Volvo/Scania trucks the army already was using. 2 Kranvagn hulls were made, 1 of them converted into a spg prototype and the other being refined into a prototype which later would become known as the turretless Strv 103 ("the cheese wedge")

YEs Wargaming ( World of Tanks ) Helped produce this video. Same as when they Did the Video for Primo Victoria. It was when the game added in new premium vehicles to the line up. The Primo Victoria tank is a Tier 8 Premium. While the new one, the Strv K is a Tier 9 Premium. The Strv K though has an optional skin ( The look of the Tank at the end of the Video ) they call " The Spirit of War " .

Yes it is cooperation of WG (World of Tanks (WoT)) and Sabaton to introduce new blueprint Swedish tank Strv K that is Sabaton driving in clip (and game). Also video is full of WoT references (ISU-152 on prochorovka map) and jokes EBR 90/105 doing flip on destruction and many more WoT memes.

The Thing with them getting in the Tank is a slight hint at their actual own Tank in the Game. dont know the name of the Tank right now but it is a Centurion so far i recall like in the video, with Sabaton marks all over it and im pretty sure even crew looking like them and i think voiced by them. quite a novelty tank to have.

Fun fact the Dutch and the polish joined the Brit’s on gold . The Brit’s made up almost a quarter of the forces on Utah. The free French the Brit’s Norwegians and Canadians took Jun and sword. The French and polish made up about 20% of the forces in Omaha to! Just a bit of info. The rest were all scattered. But the Dutch at gold were huge because of the navy supply.

Yes. Except if you want to use Victoria as the adjective then it should be Prima Victoria since the adjective is feminine. You can use Primo of course but the adjective for victory have to be Absortio instead since both are masculine. So Primo Absortio or Prima Victoria.

The spirit is looking for the perfect tank commander, and he leave the tanks commanders who commited strategic mistakes. The mark 1 was blocked in the mud because of the commanders, the shermans didn't lool correctly the battlefield and was ambushed by stug3, same for the Panther crew who didn't look on left before go trough the crossroad. The SU152 shoot without seeing his target trough the smoke and couldn't reverse. The reason why the spirit didn't leave sabaton crew is they didn't do any mistake, the AMX13 blocked them after being killed

I like the song and I like the concept. I’m not a fan of the video though…. It just feels too much like an advertisement to me. I know World of Tanks sponsored, but I would have appreciated more historical footage of what these machines actually looked like and did rather than getting a cinematic game trailer masquerading as a Sabaton music video. The other Wargaming sponsored videos like Bismarck didn’t feel like ads for their game.

I love how at the end of the video Joakim smiles anticipating his victory, this is because the tank that just fired at them and missed is a british fv4005, armed with a 183mm cannon (the largest ever mounted on a tank) and with the very long reload of the fv 4005 they had plenty of time to finish it off, really nice hint to the world of tanks gameplay.

Anyone else notice the grip of the sword got longer? In the first scene, he was very obviously carrying a single handed sword. By the time his figure was blown up, it was a two handed sword.

There is actually a comment under the original video explaining the events in the video in more detail. But in short, the knight's spirit waited for a worthy vessel, but all the candidates he chose had some crucial flaw, like overconfidence or lacking situational awareness. That's why it abandoned those tanks. Then it got more selective, waiting and seeing if any were worthy. Sabaton, of course, proved themselves worthy by not giving up, even after having their own attack backfire on them, no pun intended, by getting them jammed between the enemy tank and the wall. But they turned it around and won, so they got the makeover. Hence the knight theme in the new design.
