It is what it is. Turkey has successfully made sure historical Armenian lands will never be under Armenian governmental/Armenian Republic rule. Many factors played into it: Depopulation of Armenians, Armenian state being under Soviet state for nearly 70 years, treaties being signed between Western superpowers and Turkey, it's just too late. The boat for saving western Armenia has already sailed. Yes, I do wish that Ani and other historic Armenian territories would return to its rightful owner, but the Turkish government is very territorial government. The best way to preserve Armenian roots in these lands are if mass amount of Armenians return to these lands and start reproducing like the Kurds and Turks. Every Armenian family should have 7-8 kids. That way they'll be able to replenish the Armenian roots again.

In Pinarbasi you can still meet 1 or 2 families who can speak more or less the anatolian dialect of armenian. But they live under turkish name like muslim. They didn't leave the village by taking turkish names because they had so much immovable assets. Moreover, in Pinarbasi, as in the entire region of Kesaria, there was no great hostility, unlike in other regions. Why I know all this? Because my mother comes from one of these families

Armenians have always been faithful citizens of the Ottoman Empire, who were highly respected by the Turks for their hard work in many different handicrafts such as stonemason, blacksmith, architecture, etc. There were also many several bureaucrats and ministers with Armenian roots. The Armenian minority is still called the elites of the empire even by the Turks. However, when the empire weakened from the end of the 19th century onwards and the economy crashed, many ethnic minorities started to revolt for their national freedom. In addition, the Western states and Russia then supplied them with weapons. We know what happened afterwards. But one thing is for sure: ATATÜRK had nothing to do with all these things, because at that time in the Aegean Sea he was only a leader of a battalion in the war against Greeks and Anzacs

Armenians are more than welcome in Turkey, not only Armenians but also all kind of ethnics are welcomed. please Do NOT be ignorant to what happened to Turks, Kurds and other Muslims in the area as well. Not only Armenians suffered from this, every single citizen of Ottoman Empire got hurt. Just because you are on one side doesnt mean your idea/saying/allegations are right or the truth. I am very upset the fact that non of those Armenian visitors mentioned what Armenian groups had done to Muslims in the region. It is a tragedy obviously, lets not compare numbers... these are human beings are no longer live in their homeland but it would be a BIGOTRY to ignore the fact that Armenians and Greeks had started this uprising against Ottoman Empire to get their own land and in return Central Government push them down.. For instance do you want to try and get a new free Country in Boston/New England region and start your own new Armenia in US? Try it and lets see what happens.. I get it I feel the pain that Armenians and greeks went thru! But What about the Turks, Kurds and other Muslims? Why non of the Armenian scholars talk about them?? Do you really think Turks and Kurds dont have those horror stories? Look up Hunchakian Party, Why they were establish and when? what were their goal in the area? after reading and learning put your self in Ottoman Empire's shoes. It is a tragedy but Armenians are not the only one suffered. Because of the nationalism idea whole area suffered. Do the research find out who started what, how and when please.
@Kalimdor199Menegroth3 жыл бұрын
I believe that what hurts Armenians and others the most is not the killings and the genocide, but the fact that Turks today do not even acknowledge the mass crimes committed during and after the war. Many Turks consider the genocide some sort of justice. Also, you cannot compare the rather small amount of Turks and Kurds that might've suffered during the war, with the intentional and well planned extermination of Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians. Not to mention that all the benefits of depriving, expelling or killing these people were in the favor of the remaining Turks. All the assets, wealth, houses, property that these people left behind, which were either killed or expelled, they were given to Turkish people. No compensation was provided to the survivors. Greeks and Armenians were particularly wealth individuals before their genocide started. The reconstruction of Turkey after World War 1 was done partly thanks to the killing of these people. Germany and the other countries who contributed to the Holocaust recognized their contribution and for decades they paid compensation and gave benefits to the surviving Jews and their offspring. Turkey has not done this. Also, your comparison there with Boston is bullshit. Greeks, Armenians and others were not immigrants to those regions. Greeks had a footprint in Anatolia since the fucking Bronze Age and Armenians have been living in Eastern Anatolia for at least 3000 years. By all means, they had the right to form their own states based on their own ancestral homelands.

Why dont the armenians critize themselves? For centuries they had lived together without problems; at a weak time of the empire they had revolted because of the provocations of the west and Russia.The Armenians hadnt revolt once for centuries ironically. The deportation is the only solution for the Ottomans. There werent even one mass grave found in Anatolia if it were the aim genocide. İ admit reciprocal massacres. But it wasnt a genocide.
