The design and name of Big Boa could have fit into the 80's MOTU figure lineup lol. I owned that data sheet comic that included Rocky and was psyched that there would hopefully be a figure released. When Big Boa was released I assumed that he was Rocky after being captured by cobra and put under the care of Dr. Mindbender. This was before I knew of his history bio.

Um, you read that wrong, though the punctuation and all caps lettering in the comic is misleading... It's not : "Hey jack lord, you wanna Dance?" (A jack lord is not some obscure or filtered insult.) It's : "Hey, 'Jack Lord', you wanna dance? (Jack Lord having been the original star of Hawaii Five-O, this is of course a joke about Chuckles' propensity for wearing Hawaiian shirts.)

I first heard of rocky in G.I.Joe when I read the profile in order of battle issue 2. When I saw Rocky on that profile page I was shocked. I immediately had to learn more and I did and this is an interesting story.

Big Boa is one of the best ever. A cool friend put to me the concept of a Python Patrol version and then made that version for me...super cool. I think Stallone would of made a ton more money and it would of obviously now looking back put his likeness into GI JOE..who now remembers the Coleco stuff? Who now remembers GI Joe?!

Had the Big Boa figure, but I usually pit him against Sgt. Slaughter. Too bad the deal with Rocky didn’t push through. His filecard was well written, but justifying using him in a mission could’ve been difficult as Larry can hardly always use the excuse he’s using his Reserve time when he’s in the comic.

This is a figure I really enjoyed. I love boxing 🥊🥊 regardless so he added alot of flavor to the G.I.JOE/COBRA pantheon and he's the only vintage figure I'm still looking for. A G.I.JOE figure based of The Rocky Legacy, how badass is that 💪👌💪

In my head cannon, they had to retract "Rocky's" GI Joe enrollment as he was a super top secret agent. Also I remember several people talking about the Karate Kid joining the Joes as well, but that never happened either.
