This is fantastic! It is amazing to see how prominent Stalker was to the early comics versus how rare he was in the show. I guess with a cast that large you can only highlight so many, but I loved the diversity of G.I. Joe and it all just seemed natural. Great vids!

Stalker's definitely one of my fave Joes! I liked it that he was Hawk's right hand man & the de facto XO of G. I. Joe (Larry Hama NEVER created even a comic continuity Executive Officer for the team). He was definitely also far more interesting than Roadblock as a character. Stalker was treated far better in the comics compared to the cartoon.

Stalker was the first joe chosen which is awesome and he is a ranger so definitely a bad azz! One issue Stalker was not hunting deer in Wisconsin, he was taking pictures of wildlife. I am sure he is a hunter but the scope he is looking through in that particular issue was a camera 📷

I thought he had the coolest military fatigues on the G.I.Joe team! I wish he was in more episodes of the cartoon!

Stalker and Snake Eyes were my first Joe's. I remember getting the Joe's Parachute and throwing Stalker into the air and watching it deploy . One of the reasons I chose him was that I was Born (and living at that time) in Detroit. Stalker never got enough love in the cartoon.

It’s not a proper Saturday morning, without a G.I. Joe video from JLS. You should do Cobra Vipers next. Btw, issue 8 was ridiculous. The Cobra vehicles before Destro entered, were ridiculous. It was in issue 11, when the HISS tank was introduced, that Cobra started getting more legitimate vehicles.

LRRP: Long Range Recon Patrol, pronounced LERP. Formerly called LRP, then re designated Rangers during Vietnam. Not every thing is considered continuity. For example the story on how Hawk recruited Stalker for the Joes comes from GI Joe Declassified by Devils Due. After IDW got the license from the IP Devil's Due was no longer canon. IDW Has two continuities, one started by Chuck Dixon, and another by Larry Hama. When Hama started working for IDW they let him start his new run were it left off under Marvel. GI Joe Declassified is a nice story. It has the original Joes telling each other how Hawk recruited them. Some stick close to the original story, while others seem to be made up for this series. It also showcases two other Joes Sparks, and Shooter. These names come from a list of names in the original Marvel 1st issue.

Stalker packed a M32 9mm Pulverizer SMG but that was just a variation of the real Heckler & Koch MP5 9mm. I found it odd too how Hasbro added Sgt to his figure. I guess in the 1990s Stalker was too PC unfriendly...

It's been over a year, and I find myself returning to your video repeatedly. Thank you. We were all a little shocked by the Snake Eyes movie. If the studios wish to continue the GI Joe story, they should start from scratch (again). This time instead of promoting a GI Joe theme, they should dismiss all of the movies. Instead, they could start off with Stalker as a young man who comes to a turning point in his young life. The streets, prison, death, or 'something' else. Instead of 'Nam, he could be a young man from the 1990s. He enlists in the US Army to escape his dead-end life in Detroit. He every day sees corrupt law enforcement and politicians the streets and on TV. He deals with less-than-minimum wage jobs as a dead end due to the motor industry falling apart, and has to deal with the daily trauma of staying alive in gang-infested neighborhoods. Seeing his cousin proper in the armed forces and not knowing his father (because he died in 'Nam). Stalker takes the step and says the oath. He soon finds that life in the military is much more than he could have ever appreciated. On top of that, he is ridiculed by his command and fellow soldiers. They question his commitment and his intelligence. To his dismay, he realizes that the physical dangers of his youth back in "Da Hood" were nothing compared to the psychological trauma he suffers as a young soldier. After one encounter with a bigoted NCO and another 'botha' soldier who questions why he would even consider elite training because he barely graduated high school, Stalker takes a soulful pause and decides to plow through all of the negativity in his life and concentrate on making those who thought he was a failure to the wrong. He recommits himself to one mission at a time. First, he maxs out his PT Tests. Then weapons qualifications and any and all military courses that he allowed. After doing so, he's told that he's done enough and doesn't have to prove himself to anyone. But Stalker is on a mission. He 'needs' this. He wants more! He then requests and is granted several specialized courses only offered to the best of the best and, in doing so, graduates at the top of every class. His focus is noticed by Gen. Flag, and after some backdoor deals, he propositions DoD to form a new unit centered around Stalker or, more importantly, military personnel who have shown a no-quit attitude. Flash forward about a year, and Stalker is a senior combat NCO, not even 10 years in the military, and out of nowhere, he's approached by Gen. Flag and offered to help recruit and lead a new and extraordinary unit. Stalker has some reservations. Before this recruitment, Stalker was on a mission that disfigured one of his best friends. Before that, he had led a routine mission when he and his squad were ambushed. The same friend that was horribly scared was nearly killed in that other mission, and Stalker made a command decision to leave him behind. Still, fortunately, one of his squad members disobeyed Stalker's orders and rescued his mate. Regardless Gen. Flag convinces StalkerStalker to take charge and learn from his past mistakes. To reconcile his friendship with his disfigured best friend, Stalker recruits him [Snake-Eyes], and the rest is history.
