The Society of American Archivists and the AHA hosted an online roundtable about the current controversies surrounding presidential records, moderated by Peniel E. Joseph (Univ. of Texas at Austin) . Why is the FBI raiding residences of former presidents and vice presidents? Does any of this matter to anyone other than archivists and historians? This event will explore the implications of these controversies, including how they might affect the preservation and accessibility of presidential records for future generations. Panelists include Nicole Hemmer (Vanderbilt Univ.), Timothy Naftali (New York Univ.), and Trudy Huskamp Peterson (former acting archivist of the United States).
