History of de Havilland Aircraft of Canada

A walk through the history of the de Havilland Aircraft of Canada, starting in 1928 from humble beginnings as a subsidiary of de Havilland Aircraft in England, to becoming a major manufacturer of trainers and fighters for the Allies during World War II, to indigenous designs, then stewardship under Boeing and Bombardier before its final rebirth in 2019.

Having been involved with the previous owner of DHC, that is, the one before Viking, I appreciated the fact that there was no mention of the "B" word. A company that destroyed the heritage of de Havilland Canada. Long live all these wonderful airplanes.

Interesting video but the DHC-3 Otter should have been included. It was an important DHC model with 466 built and many still flying today, often converted to turbine power. The DHC-6 Twin Otter has a lot in common with the original single-engine DHC-3 including the fuselage and wing design.

Why wasn’t the DHC-3 otter included? It was an important aircraft for Canadian history and are still flying today reliably.

This is a history of the Dash 8. The Dash 8 isn’t the only important thing that was produced by De Havilland Canada.
