It has been brought to our attention that certain things in the video need corrections or clarification: • When the Romans ruled England, they would not have called it England. They named it Provincia Britannia (“Province of Britain”). When Vortigen arrived on the scene in around 450, the island would have been called something else; scholars refer to it now as sub-Roman Britain. To keep things simpler, we elected to use England throughout. However, Britain would have been a better term to use in some instances. For example, Caesar sent an expedition to Britain, not just England. The Romans withdrew troops from Britain, leaving Britain to defend itself. • :36 - A picture of potatoes is shown. Potatoes were not introduced to England until the 16th century. • :41 - A picture is shown of L’Anse aux Meadows. This settlement is located in Canada, and it is a Viking site. • Around :50 - The video makes it sound like the Celts were responsible for the start of the Bronze Age in Britain. They came along during this period (around 1000 BCE), but they did not start it. • Around 1:00 - Stonehenge was not built by the Celts. It was thought to be built by the Neolithic people in around 3000 BCE. • Around 1:06 - Julius Caesar was not an emperor of Rome. He was a dictator who paved the way for the Roman Empire to take shape. He also did not go to Britain to conquer it; he claimed that Rome invaded the island in the name of self-defense. • Around 1:22 - The Romans did not rule Britain for 600 years. Altogether, they ruled Britain for around 367 years. • Around 1:40 - Hadrian’s Wall first began construction around 122. • Around 2:08 - Vortigen invited Saxons to help him deal with the Picts and the Scots, not Danes. • Around 3:01 - Harold Godwinson was known as Harold II, not Harold I. • Around 3:40 - William the Conqueror was succeeded by his son, William III. John I of England took the throne in 1199. • Around 4:07 - It sounds as if the Black Death lasted for one hundred years and started during Henry III’s reign. The Black Death began in 1347 (long after Henry III), and it ended in the 1350s, although it would come back in waves for many years. • Around 4:26 - Arthur was not killed. He died from some kind of illness; people attribute his death to the English sweating sickness, tuberculosis, influenza, or the plague. • Around 6:47 - Charles I died on January 30th, 1649. • Around 8:55 - Queen Victoria died in 1901, not 1902. • Around 9:36 - Germany declared war on France on August 3rd, 1914, two days after declaring war on Russia. • Around 11:19 - It should be clarified that Britain was not behind the Moon Landing. However, British engineers worked on it, and millions in Britain tuned in to watch it. We apologize for the inaccuracies presented in the video and will strive to do better in future ones.
@marionpfander87522 жыл бұрын
I also expected to see the now present Queen Elizabeth mentioned with her coronation after her father's death . Why not ?? The moon landing or even the fashion and music " achievements " looked out of place . It would be nice to correct all inaccuracies and revise the end to the current ruler of England if you indeed want to stick to your topic which is English history . A film with correct events / people / dates / locations ... will make better informed and definitely happier viewers .

It is good to know British island history. I think British people were only single race, however, were not. And, it connected to a disputes within the British Commonwealth like North ireland and Scotland.

When it did go from "England" to "Great Britain"?
@richard64402 жыл бұрын
The political union that joined the kingdoms of England and Scotland happened in 1707 when the Acts of Union ratified the 1706 Treaty of Union and merged the parliaments of the two nations, forming the Kingdom of Great Britain, which covered the entire island.

1066 William crowns himself. Only if there would be a people where being A King isn't a thing someone can Call himself. Nor can it happen anywhere but somewhere or any crown, but a Holy Crown, on a Holy land. An already broken Hungary(Magyarok) survived it's cruxifiction, look it up. Yes, I know this video isn't about Hungary, but it clicked in me when I heard someone named himself King in England and I know that in the 900s' and early 1000s' (and later some) Hungarian Kings could only be appointed by specific people (in wisdom and call it spiritual knowledge) in a specific place with a Holy Crown (that specific crown is not made up of 2 parts in two different times, but by one and same source(hence it's one piece) . Some historians tried fooling the masses(and the so called "intelectuals") that the Hungarian Holy Crown was made up by two separate pieces to discredit its value and sacredness, yet even Suleimani himself gave it back to the Huns (1526 if I remember well the Battle of Beograd, today Serbia). The Churches in Europe still TILL THIS DAY ring the bell for the Hungarians (and many other people, basically most of Europe) who came to defend it from the Ottomans. There could be a lot more to talk about, but 1st you should start with your ignorance and than search truth. More and more peoeple wanna know it because a rational person today can see that some powers are trying to eliminate the sanctity of a man and woman forming a family, with Gods help to raise them in good faith. If anyone can be anything, nothing is sacred.

The cruxifiction of Hungary happened in 1921 (but was planned way earlier) under a "peace-pact" called TRIANON( that means 3 Times NO). I put "peace pact" because it cannot be called one hence no Hungarian was invited to the talks, it is more an order of extinction if you know that Hungary lost 65% of it's territory, about 40% of Hungarians woke up in either an inexistent nation before 1918, or in an enemy state, 88%of the rail system was taken, 60% of mine, lumber and many other raw materials. Basically Hungary was ordered to Pay enemy soldiers wages, whilst they barely were able to feed their own people. They stole so much of everything, that Hungarian newborns had to be wrapped in PAPER because there was NO other material left! In the 1st 6 months of the extermination attempt, between 500to even 900(!) out of every 1000 newborn babies died within the months, let that sink in. And I'm only scratching the surface, some Lines drawn were so plain to see what they meant because Churches or cemeteries and factories were left empty . What Afghanistan suffered from the USA invasion is Kindergarden stuff compared to the victims of The Great War(notice I didn't call it WW1), because if you know the truth, you know Hungary wanted no war AND THAT WAS THE ISSUE.

William was not succeeded by John, he was succeeded by his son William Rufus as William II. John was the son of Henry II, great-grandson of William the Conqueror. I get this is a short vid but you missed 4 monarchs out 🤨.
