John said he only mimed once, that was his 1st appearance on Bandstand doing "Sadie". He had so much trouble doing it and trying to remember the spot he was meant to be onstage, he never did it again. Only sang "live" from then on. I didn't hear it as a Jazz host, although interestingly there is a Jazz artist in the states called Jack Phantom. What I heard is at one point, when John wanted to try and break the American market, an American agent booked him into a side lounge in a Casino, where he was introduced by the host as "Jack Phantom", because either he'd heard the name wrong and/or didn't really care, John was just another side lounge act. Tommy Emmanuel played in John's band in 1991 but also donated his services for the "Concert for Rwanda" in '94 kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6nRnmWqocSpZ5Y John & Glenn Wheatley (his friend and Manager) wanted to raise money for the children of Rwanda - tens of thousands of refugees & orphans from what has been described as the worst humanitarian disaster of our time. Along with 750 volunteers, the concert was organized in two days & televised on Channel 9. It raised $3,574,875.00 John joined LRB in February 1982 and stayed till 1986. That clip looks like a 1983 TV show in Australia, although what was shown in this clip is only the highlights, it is the same shirt and appears to be the same venue. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rF66i6OVqpmMabs This is the same show that he did "Reminiscing" (one of my favorites), if you look closely at the band you'll see the keyboard player David Hirschfelder and bass player Wayne Nelson who later joined John's band. Just a little correction, you don't "Win" those medals mentioned, they are "Awarded".

Poor Fellipe. I have confused him. I was going back in time because it was the 20th Anniversary. 😅😊

2002 is the 20th anniversary of when he started with LRB so that was from 1982 😂
