Fun Fact: Ken is actually modelled,after Joe Lewis,the legendary US full-contact Karate champion,who trained with Bruce Lee,knocked out Chuck Norris and made full-contact Karate & Kickboxing popular in the USA. Bruce Lee called him:''The greatest Karateka in the world right now.'' There's a cover picture,of Joe Lewis in a red Karate gi,for Black Belt Magazine,which was the direct inspiration for Ken's design. Just like Ken,Joe Lewis,was an extremely skilled fighter,trained in Okinawa/Japan,while serving as a Marine(he actually got his black belt in 7 months!),who later returned home and became a champion,winning dozens of tournaments.He later created his own variation of Jeet Kun Do,combining Bruce Lee's teaching with traditional Okinawa Karate. Sadly,he passed away in 2012,from a brain tumor,aftr fighting the cancer for over a year. R.I.P.

My all time number 1 favorite fighting game character. I've been a fan of Ken since I first saw him in the arcades in Street Fighter 2 when I was like 9 or 10 years old. He has such an awesome backstory and I love his cool attitude and flamboyant style when he fights. He's so much more interesting and cooler than Ryu. That red keikogi Ken wears perfectly represents his personality and fighting style...passion, love and fire burning within.

I think in the long run Ryu kinda gets the short stick. Ken gets better character traits being a brat turned into a good willed adult (Ryu is just a somewhat bland and generic stoic hero) Ken gets the girl, a baby, a student, in some versions even a school.
