The W212 pre-facelift is the most successful design perfection that Mercedes has ever developed. The W207 pre-facelift coupé is the most beautiful and timeless coupé in an E-Class. And the whole thing with the V8 5.5 liter, is just a dream.

W124 for me!I remember going to school in 1986 when I was 12 years old and from the school bus I was looking out the window and saw a red 250d w124 drive by it was red and had huge headlamps and looked so so futuristic at the time it really stood out the traffic,a local solicitor owned the car. The design hasn’t dated in my option I have never forgotten that car!w124 was the best ,the newer versions are nice but the newer ones did not do it for me like that one did

I just bought a W211 facelift e320cdi 2008 with only 116k KM from the first owner and Mercedes dealer maintained. I currently have a W123. My grandpa passed it down to me. I dare to say it is one of the best cars ever made. It is elegant and strong which makes it very unique. I wouldn't change it for a modern car.... Even if it doesn't have a big a screen on the dashboard.

1. w124 prefacelift, I remember the first I saw when I was a child in 1985. Since then I'm a Mercedes lover. 2. w211 3. w213 prefacelift. I prefer them with 3.0 l engines.

I´ve got a W124 300 E (1988) and a W212 E 250 CGI (2010). Maybe the W212 will be replaced by a W214 or a new C-Class in a few years. Best design: W211 - a timeless beautiful sedan. And I like the shape of the W124. That´s what I call notchback!

@@caryou1 I prefer sedans. All terrain versions are estates. Estate means "form follows function", but for me design is more important than a lot of space. Generally, estates are a Western European and german phenomenon, but not for everyone.

We have a 2003 W211 E500 and a 2018 W213 E250. The W211 overhall design its absolutely balanced, harmonious, beautiful. Driving both its a huge diference between the heavy Mercedes and the lightness of a New modern project. Só diferents. Building quality overhall, Mercedes step down on W213. Its sad.

@@caryou1 Maybe, but i didn´t refer about engines. Talking abaout overhall quality, the car project itself. The W213 has huge gaps between body penals, look closely just at the end of the rear doors, windows area. The dashboard cracks allover if you squeeze or the car shakes. It´s sad. But of course, its modern, sleek and tecno, but bad quality on materials.

W124 was the last of traditional spare no cost, over engineered and overbuilt Mercedeses that would last for generations; everything that came after it was built down to cost and, therefore, not nearly in tue same league in terms of quality.

I can live without the more power (the W124 500E was powerful enough for me, thank you) and the electronics galore (that constantly break anyway) the current models have.

They were legendary up to the W124. The W210 was appalling, a rust bucket that should have scuppered MB's reputation for good. Subsequent versions were better but were never again "engineered like no other".

Bis 212 waren es fast immer elegante Autos mit dem gewissen Etwas. Die neue Generation geht gar nicht mehr, das Dashboard, null ambiente, könnte auch bei einem Reiseimer drin sein, plumpes Design. Ich werde meinen 211 Mopf T-Model weiter hegen und pflegen, meinen 124 weiter restaurieren und bei Schmuddelwetter eine Saisongurke fahren. Neuwagen von Mercedes definitiv never!!
