Although the Nova Corps are Marvel’s mere image of DC’s Green Lantern Corps, Richard Rider is definitely an original character that Marvel has got to bring straight out of the comics into the MCU in the right direction

I've been an original NOVA fan-boy since the early 80s and knowing how close we have come to seeing the MCU version (in the first Guardians movie and then Infinity War/Endgame) only for the character to be pulled from the story is a real kick in the teeth. And to add insult-to-injury; the Disney+ project has now been officially cancelled with no firm expectation or guess when (or if) the character will EVER appear on the big or little screen. 😕

Rider does not get his powers the way Alexander does. Rider actually has a direct connection to the Nova Force while Alexander gets his power through the helmet. Prior to the introduction of Alexander, none of the Crops had helmet-based powers. As far as how I feel about the character, Rider has been my favorite since he was first introduced (I was 10 years old at the time).

always enjoyed Nova/RR. Having said that, I was sort of dissapointed to learn how many similarities there were between Nova Corps and the Green lantern corps. Also that the GLC prefated the Nova Corps by a LONG, LONG way. enough on that. When I saw Gaudians otG movie, and Nova Corps, I knew that a), Zandar was gonna be destroyed, and B... where is Ricard Ryder??? As we all know, no mention.....tick tick tick tick.. not mention all ALL. WTH? and then, Disney stepped in. IDK about anyone else, but, I KNEW that the odds of a white, male superhero being introduced pretty pretty much zero. Sure, we saw female superheros, and superheroes of color (and they were all GREAT), but, NOva? Will never happen
