Semiconductors were known (they were known since the early 19th century) but transistors were developed much later than in our timeline (probably as late as 2067) with most computers still being mainframes built from vacuum tubes (Fallout 4 mentions transistors in logs from the early 2020s but this would not explain why most computers created 50 years later are still vacuum tubes-based and not similar to our current computers). This in fact means that the Fallout timeline has diverged from ours as soon as the 1920s.
@MegaZeta6 жыл бұрын
Transistors were invented much later in the history of Fallout's Earth, I believe, not semiconductors. Still, that means-assuming generously that "transistors" doesn't mean any device demonstrating the principle, but rather the point-contact transistor that allowed for the device's integration into most electronics in "our" history-that Fallout's history diverges from our own in 1947, at the very latest, not at some point in the '50s or '60s.

In the Fallout universe, China took Russia's place, China was America's direct rival having technology that in some areas surpassed Americas. An example, the stealth boy was actually reverse engineered from captured Chinese stealth suits. China was winning the arms race and America pulled it back with the invention of Power armor. Think of China in real life having an equal if not slightly stronger military than America. The USSR never having been disbanded in Fallout, was more of a soft power, having friendlier relations with America instead.

@Deadsea_19934 жыл бұрын
The problem with The Enclave is that they are ok with massive genocide. Contaminating the water would kill off countless innocent people in the process. Then you also see how they are fine with gunning down innocent people in The Wasteland. They aren't much different to Nazis with Jews during WW2. That is an accurate assessment since Nazis also viewed certain people as to being contaminated and not pure. The Enclave wants to eradicate every single being on the planet and begin a new one and even if they pulled that off, it wouldn't be a wonderful world or whatever. It would be a dictatorship and many people would suffer under it. The people would actually do better under The Legion compared to Enclave cause they might actually have a chance to live, lmao. Keep in mind that The Legion are fairly backwards with their beliefs too. NCR have it correct that The World has changed and going back to the ways of the old would cause many more to die. They view The Great War as the end of the old chapter in a book and the start of a new one. Mr. House seems more reasonable compared to The Enclave and his plans were also really good too.

Obviously environment wise it had to be different otherwise why even buy New Vegas, just replay 3. Vegas and the Mojave are much different than the Capital Wasteland. Lorewise it would make sense the Chinese targeted the U.S. capital with more vigor than a pleasure city like Vegas and with House having made preparations it's incredible he managed to save any extent of the city. But what makes New Vegas so incredible and replayable by comparison is that choice is in every facet of the game. If I wanted I could end House right after leaving Good springs or kill of the BOS. I can't take out Sarah Lyons in the very start of meeting her. Nor is siding with Enclave. Style wise, I think Megaton is one of the best settlements since Vault City, and really works well in it's environment. I really like Rivet City and the dilapidated landscape in the Capital.

Fallout 3 with mods was my first post nuclear complete experience, and I'm grateful for that great game.

What mods did you use
@barbyfn3 жыл бұрын
@@Chiquitito1201 I still having my mods folder sorted in the correct order, I have many for personal preferences, but the must have are: FO Script Extender, NMCs Texture Pack, Faster Pip Boy Arm Raise, Pip Boy 2500 (removes the awkward pip boy from your arm, converting in a handheld), iHud, EVE, Marts Mutant Mod, Fellaut, Dar Nified UiF3, and the animation and body replacement, including beautiful faces (this game really needs those). But today I would replay it with the Tales of Two Wastelands, the mod to load FO3 into the New Vegas engine, with all the improvements, and surely will need to change all my mods list. There are videos recommending must have mods for each game if you have doubts. Have fun.

The actual story is way way darker and straight up messed up... long story short at the end there were only four people who survived and when the computer said "good job!" The four of them went to the vault door each of them with gun in hand 4 of them having enough 4 of them put gun on head 3 of them pulled the trigger one didin't have the balls and brushed it off and left

lmao the Institute was made from the pre war CIT Commonwealth Institute of technology and they were fairly similar to the Enclave but they actually developed all of their own technology which is pretty damn impressive as they actually developed their own lasers instead of using pre war shit except they don't have power armor because of that lol.

New Vegas was way better. Not to mention it was made by some of the people (Obsidian, founded by a few of the members of the original Black Isle Studios) who made the first two Fallouts, which are also better than number 3.
@mrnevada27419 жыл бұрын
Mad Max Rockatansky My opinion matters to me. Not reviewers' ones. As really big fan of Fallout who played all games since Fallout from 1997 (the series started its life in the same year I was born), I am claiming there is no doubt about New Vegas over 3. U cant change my mind.

Petroleum oil. Oil is split into different types based on boiling point and used for many different things through a process called fractional distillation. Look up a diagram it shows a bunch of uses.
