@☆ Why even call it Air though? iPhone, a more popular product of Apple’s is simply called iPhone, iPhone Pro. Why not call the redesigned M2 “MacBook Air” that’s rumored a MacBook? It would be more consistent with their lineup. They could then reintroduce a 12” MacBook with actual performance utilizing Apple Silicon and call it MacBook Mini, to match the naming of iPad/iPhone, again. Sure, iPad lineup has an iPad Air… but even that makes no sense, whatsoever. Is it lighter than the iPad Pro? No. Is it lighter than the iPad 8th Gen? Yes, by one whole ounce… and soon the standard iPad design will probably be dropped for the new design… making it the same weight and dimension as the iPad Air? Or maybe… they just call it iPad 9th generation, drop the Air, and cleanup their lineup. This is my prediction. To recap… iPhone Lineup: iPhone Mini, iPhone, iPhone Pro - iPad Lineup: iPad Mini, iPad, iPad Pro - MacBook Lineup: MacBook Mini, MacBook, MacBook Pro - Mac Desktop Lineup: Mac Mini, iMac, Mac Pro. Just makes too much freakin sense and goes back to the 2x2 punnet square that Steve Jobs laid out wayyy back round the turn of the century that returned Apple Macintosh to its glory. Come back to this comment in 1-2 years and we’ll see what happens! Exciting times regardless of what they call these things.

I still love the black Macbooks. It was in opinion then and still now a gold standard for a mid priced professional looking laptop. Ok, sure it's only poly-carbonate, and it was more expensive then the white Macbooks, and you might not got much for that extra Apple tax in hardware, but in looks it was at the time unique. Sure today a black laptop is certainly the norm, but it wasn't then but then to add it was a Macbook... wow. I fell in love with them. It only only a few years later Hp would release a Compaq line that looked very similar to that of the Macbook and today Dell sells it's Latitude line that strangely looks and feels similar to that of the "blackbooks". Anyway, that was a great era of hardware. Sure you could go all the way and buy Aluminium but for a kid in college, on a budget it offered a sweet spot over that of a stain prone, child attracting white macbook.

you missed some things: the 2nd gen MacBook became the 13" MacBook Pro the very next year, while the white MacBook was still produced. The MacBook5,2 even was shipped with an Nvidia GPU rather than an Intel one (GMA950 or X-3100). The MacBook also was available in black - so essentially in two colors - until the black was replace by the first Aluminium-MacBook which itself became the 13" MacBook Pro. The MacBook was introduced as a 32 Bit model. This is the very model, that suffered the Random Shutdown Syndrome (RSS) because of a hardware-miss-construction (they replaced some cooling-stuff - heatpipe or cooling-block, I don't know exactly - on my very first Apple MacBook, so a former short-circiut couldn't happen anymore).

why the lighted Apple logo has been called off from Mac notebooks?

No idea. Didn't cost any extra power from the battery. And I really like the lit Apple logo. Makes my 2017 MacBook Air stand out from the crowd :)

SandsOfArrakis It’s so weird that you have to say MacBook Air (old one) so everyone understands haha

My school district had a number of class sets of the orange clamshell iBooks.. always thought they were hideous looking but wanted one from the time they came out with the white ones.. First MacBook I actually owned was a 2015 model and it's still going strong. I've had a stuck key or two but was able to fix em.. I also hit it with compressed air at least once a week or so now. Overall, it's been my favorite laptop owned

3:04 Well yeah of course the iBook G3 Snow is only gonna come in white. It literally has “snow” in its name; last time I checked snow is white so not sure what people were confused about as far as coloring for this device. Now as for the G4, I could see the confusion there as they could’ve added some color in that model since it didn’t have the Snow in its name but hey I’m not an Apple designer so what do I know? 🤷🏻♂️
