It could be because I grew up in the 90's but even with me enjoying the NES, C64, SNES, MegaDrive, GameBoy and N64, the PlayStation 1 was legendary and left quite an impression with its CD based games. I swear, those voice clips in some games like Driver and those cutscenes in games like Tarzan which were stripped straight from the Disney movie hooked me. And let's not forget those demo discs! Endless hours of fun for little money. The backstory of this thing is just as interesting. Wouldn't it be for Nintendo being so stubborn and stupid, gaming landscape may look entirely different at least for the 4th and maybe 5th generation of game consoles.

There certainly is something very Special about that first console you encounter in your life. Personally I always lean back on the NES and Genesis as game consoles that just leave me with great nostalgic feelings.
@SuperFlashDriver9 ай бұрын
@@HistoricNerd Ahhh yeah, a lot of early millennials and late gen xers do mention the Famicom/NES and Sega Master System/Genesis as their beloved consoles they grew up with. I sadly never owned, nor my siblings or my parents ever bought consoles from 3rd and 4th generation consoles, BUT my parents did buy 2nd generation consoles like the Atari 2600 and my dad's old and not working Intellivision, with some of the games and the controllers stored in his box to this very day, even after 45 years that he's owned it since 1981/1982. But for me, it'll always be the Playstation 1 and 2 that I love the most than the N64 and Gamecube. And while gamecube and N64 did have good games on it, I feel as if PS1+PS2 had better bootup screens whereas Microsoft and Nintendo weren't even close.
