Hi, I really enjoyed the your video and was interesting to find out more of tunisian history. There is a small imprecision, in your video you speak about the punic wars against the roman empire, but it was actually against the roman republic. This is minor and I noted it because, as italian, we had to study roman history in detail. Keep up with the good work!

Correction from tunisia, the reason why the man put him self in fire is, he refused to let police take free fruit from his sidewalk cart. So they harrassed him and policewoman slept him. He threatened to burn him self and he did. May God forgive him.

Great video... Question... When you say "barsha", as in "so much"... Did barsha come from the Russian большое (pronounced bolshoye) or vice versa? or is it just a rare coincidence? Merci barsha...
@farahc3 жыл бұрын
I asked a Russian speaking friend and we couldn't figure out the connection. I do believe it is a coincidence that they sound a bit the same.

Wonderful... Before Islam infiltrated and ravaged Tunis, the Tunisians were Berber (Amazigh)... Were the Berber Phoenicians like the Lebanese?... Those are historical points for your future videos...
@farahc3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I did say that natives from Tunisia were the Berbers. And the Phoenicians are originally from the Levant region which is modern day Syria, Lebanon, some of Turkey, Palestine and Jordan. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@myemperor3 жыл бұрын
@@farahc Yes Farah... but the Phoenicians settled in Tunisia from the 12th to the 2nd century BC and they founded Carthage... So, a good percentage of Tunisians must have been descendants of the Phoenicians...
@farahc2 жыл бұрын
@@myemperor I am answering you now that I have confirmation. I was so curious that I finally did a DNA genetic test and at least for me, I am 65% Berber and only 2% from the Levant (Lebanon, Syria, Jordan etc)

what about numidia ? what about all the amazigh dynasties ? .... its crazy how u just talk about the occupying strangers but im not shocked at all tbh
@mspionage17432 жыл бұрын
Berber's have a great history. You actually have the feminine facial features of the group so I wouldn't be surprised if your ancestors originated in those tribes.
@sicapon40988 ай бұрын
You didn't talk about many important things in the history of Tunisia like the battles won by Tunisian Muslims and the effect of Islam in the life of Amazigh tribes.

What about the fatimids the aghlabides and the hafsides dynasties . Thats our true history...you are just talking about colinisation and giving a lot of wrong informations

Great video. Unfortunately, that really stupid and loud background makes listening much more difficult: it would be much better without any music at all - now it sounds/looks like a cheap advertisement, but way too long, which is really sad because the content itself is actually quite good, and well presented, so many thanks for that!

WRONG !!! Carthage was not founded by Phoenicians, it was founded by the local civilians called Amazigh. Phoenicians were only making business and living peacefully and never had the right to participate in politics during that age.

How you called that french protector.. ahaha 🤣 that’s colonialism’s not protection…that’s totally different madam
@farahc3 жыл бұрын
That's the term the French chose when they took control over Tunisia in 1881 when they signed the Bardo Treaty.
