Yeah I always used to be like that too, when I'd watch old NFL films on TV when I was little, I would see Brett Favre and Antonio Freeman connect a lot and I thought to myself, "wow he's one of the greatest of all time right?" then recently as ive gotten into football stats I looked at Freemans stats and he got pro bowl 1 time lmao.

Man, if the Bears had Kyle Orton we woulda at least made the wildcard. Half the season in ‘09 Cutler was making crucial bonehead throws against the Packers on opening week on SNF and against the 49ers on TNF one week. Orton might be a game manager, but that’s what we needed this season our defense was still pretty solid and we had a good ground game.

Watching this era of Bears football is just depressing. The amount of talent we had in this time was insane. We had great defenders at every level. We had a stud RB and TE. We had the GOAT KR in hester, we had an all time great kicker. We had an all time great Center. And then later we added great receivers in Marshall and Jeffery. But somehow none of it amounted to jack.

My brother and I were at that game in the endzone with the winning TD. When that TD was caught we celebrated for maybe 15 seconds and then proceeded to sprint out of the stadium, across Grant Park, and got a taxi. We got back to his place just as the post-game coverage was getting started.

Stephen A Smith is extremely hard on the guy saying shit like "he should be the poster child for white privilege" etc. Jay Cutler had one of the best arms I've ever seen and had some great moments in the NFL but ultimately fell short of the high expectations everyone had for him. From a fans perspective, there is nothing wrong with tanking. It nets you the highest chance of drafting the best players, so there’s nothing to lose in that. From a players perspective though, that shit sucks as hell. You play to win, you don’t go out there and tell your teammates that “we play to be teammates with Trevor Lawrence next year” and its probably demoralizing whenever you hear from the media that your team is a tanking team.

The Bears brass relationship with Jay Cutler in a nutshell: Young player develops chemistry with Jay? Show them the door. See: Devin Aromashadu, Josh Bellamy, Greg Olsen. Repeatedly firing the competent OCs after short tenures, while sticking with the bad ones for long stretches. The only thing they gave Jay consistently was Matt Forte.. who was already there when they traded for Jay. One man does not save a franchise. Unless that man is Tom Brady.

This Bears win lead directly to MIN missing out on the SB, possibly winning it. Due to this game, MIN lost home field advantage and had to play in New Orleans instead of at home.

One of my favorite Bears games ever, even in a down year. Everything came together for one night. Kinda think this game gave the Bears the belief that they could compete in 2010.

Also, fondly remember Tirico complimenting the Bears fans before the fourth and goal for being so loud and boisterous for a 5-9 team.

Damn that was a great game! I didn't watch this though. I was only 9 years old and was never introduced to football. Back when the Bears were actually playoff contenders. Also back when Smokin' Jay Cutler was actually smokin', smokin' them defenses in his young career. This game is WAY better than the crappy game I watched tonight. The 2000s Bears' offense was also way more aggressive than the current Bears offense. Maybe they should watch this for film study.

Was there. Phenomenal football game, all around. Love the final call by Tirico "Cutler takes a shot for the win! Downfield! It is caught by Aromashodu! CHICAGO WINS!" Then he just let's the atmosphere speak for itself "The road to the super bowl goes through New Orleans". Wow. Talk about EPIC. Amazing game with historical significance (Minnesota couldn't go to New Orleans and win - New Orleans won the SB that year). Amazing commentary.

Adrian Petersons fumbles in this game cost us home field advantage against the saints later in the playoffs…in that game Peterson would fumble 3 or 4 times to cost us a Super Bowl berth. Later in 2016 Peterson had a crucial fumble late against the Seahawks in a game we were ahead and controlling in sub zero temps. He always found a way to choke in big time situations.

Bears fans hated Cutler way to much imo, I’m a Bears fan and even though cutler had a lot of INTs and that could get frustrating and also he was a sucky leader, I always liked Cutler as the QB he had hidden scrambling ability and a rocket arm it’s just that the line failed him and he got hit way to much and that caused concussion problems and other injuries too
