It takes all the bravery in world to act in such manner to risk everything.

This historical story appeared in the 'book of the month' section of readers digest magazine several decades ago, long before the release of this film. Depiction of every moment is exactly same in both, I can remember.....

where the hell is Stauffenberg's Knight's Cross??? Did he sell it?

+Deep Blue the Germans seemed to have two different levels of dress uniform: one where they display ribbons and medals and one where they don't. They seem to go out of their way here on many occasions to show close-ups of german dress tunics of generals and what not with obvious slits for medal/ribbon bars, yet with no such items displayed; just the open slits oddly visible.

That is true, and typical of German and Austrian military style, it was about Full Dress and Parade Dress, with all metal insignias and items, and Service Dress without most of them. But the Knight's Cross (and every other neck decorations) was compulsory with every uniform, even in combat, and certainly when in service dress or rapport dress. German army was quite strict about it. Just noticed it. A little lack of attention by the film director...

teller121 My friend, I've been in the Army and I can assure you that if you lack ANYTHING in your dress gear, be it even a button, you'll be eaten alive, that's what officers are there for...it's unthinkable that a german officer could show himself without his Knight's Cross, it's like, say, if a US Marine had a Medal of Honour and doesn't wear it.

I recognize Hitler, Göhring, Goebbels, Himmler. Who are the others? Whoch one is supposed to be Bormann?
@captainSanchez7478 жыл бұрын
the general that ask for more tea was Field Marshall wilhelm keitel, Supreme commander of the armed force and the other guy with the party arm band was alber speer, hitler's personal arquitect, prime arquitect of the reich and minister of armament.

Thank you. That makes sense. Pretty good cast for each character. No pseudo German accents. Do you think that the "I'm the eyes of the Führer"-guy is Martin Bormann?

That guy was Heinz Brandt, part of general Adolf Heusinger staff. The movie has a mistake, he was colonel in 1943 but when the 20 july plot was a general major. He died when the bomb detonated killing him instantly.
