hey Kelley,if it is just going to be destroyed, then you should consider going back. think about this, you might find personal items such as jewelry that might be priceless to the families involved. it would be one thing if it were just going to lay there forever, but to be destroyed forever is unthinkable. if your finds were mostly from the cockpit area, you really haven't touched the cabin area where the persona effects may be. I really hope you do go back

Excellent Video. Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd Did you ever wonder that they just left the smaller pieces behind and just took the bigger pieces of debris. I say that because you guys found a lot of material. Things were different back then. Today they recover pretty much every splinter. I'm no expert, Just curious as to what you think.
@vicvalente48745 жыл бұрын
its possible that they knew early on that the cause of the accident was fuel starvation and not any particular system failure of the aircraft so they were not interested in recovering every little bit of debris
@THEATREofPAIN2705 жыл бұрын
@@vicvalente4874 Totally understand that. I just thought that they would still recover most pieces.
@kellyhistoryseekers30905 жыл бұрын
@@THEATREofPAIN270 I think life was so much different then. It was the community that helped get the survivors out. In 2019, the general public would be scared of hurting someone and getting sued in a similar situation. In 1977, this type of aircraft was very old technology. Other models had been in accidents. The NTSB also relied very heavily on Artimus Pyles account of what happened. I think they thought it was an open and shut case. Read the NTSB report and see what you think. Personally, I wish they had picked everything up. We found this much in 2 hours... it does make you feel doubtful. I don't believe the hoax theories out there but they are great reading. One last thing. Six people died. Six people should be remembered. That is what bothers me most about this project. The band manager and the pilots were people, too. Reply back if you find something I didn't or have another theory. Thanks for watching 😀

The first piece you found in this video looks like part of the frame around one of the fuselage windows, so it was probably right next to one of the passengers when the plane came down... I'm surprised the NTSB didn't take the nose wheel steering tiller wheel as it could have been significant in determining the mechanism of death for the pilot or co-pilot. It takes a lot of force to break a cast aircraft-grade aluminium part off like that so you have to think that one of the pilots hit that during the course of the crash and aircraft break up. Maybe there wasn't so much emphasis on the mechanism of injury in investigations then, but in today's eyes it seems like a very glaring miss, as does the high-amperage fuse that you found, as an electrical fault could easily have caused a failed or misreading fuel gauge which could well have been a cause of the crash...
@HistorySeekers4 жыл бұрын
You are exactly right and most of our guys all being current or former law enforcement investigators felt the same way. Be sure to check out our latest video that we released a few days ago that shows even more items missed. It cast serious doubt on the effectiveness of the investigation.
@gosportjamie4 жыл бұрын
@@HistorySeekers Yes, I've watched that video. It does raise quite a few questions. I'm thinking this could be another case like the Mammonas Assassinas plane crash in South America where someone seems to have found them an annoyance so the investigation got rushed and put to bed as quickly as possible to minimise the public scrutiny. I'm not trying to suggest there was anything untoward involved in the crash, but the investigation does very much seem like it could have been handled in a more thorough and professional way, at least to modern eyes...

This stuff has surfaced after many years where the investigators after their investigation dug a large hole and buried the small stuff and it is coming back to the surface. one of the rescuers said they took unopened beer cans and left them there in remembrance of Ronnie.
@DENAANN10004 жыл бұрын
I'd cut a piece small enough to fit in a locket, these guys were way ahead of their time. The fact it could have easily been avoided makes the crash all the more tragic.

you are right. I still wonder if there was something missed in the investigation.
@DENAANN10004 жыл бұрын
@@HistorySeekers What investigation? Dumb ass pilot's didn't put enough gas in which is why it didn't explode. Doesn't get any more stupid or tragic than that. As a loyal fan I feel sooo friggin cheated.

Oh I agree but from reports of band members inside the plane they reported seeing a fuel leak.

One of the rescuers Bobby McDaniel would go back to the site a few times and bring 2 cans of Budweiser, open one and drink it leave the other unopened for Ronnie. Could be from the plane or could be from Bobby McDaniel

how are they developing this area when October 20 of this year a memorial was unveiled to commemorate the ones that perished in the plane crash? I know it was erected several yards from the spot yall on but to me, that is secreted ground.

It’s not yards from the site. If they told you that then you were deceived. It is not on the crash site

@@HistorySeekers sorry I was a few yards off, The official unveiling is Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. about 400 yards from the actual crash site, which is difficult to navigate because of trees, vines, and marsh. @@funkyflashman I am not sure if there is a way. On October 20, 2019, there was a beautiful memorial dedicated near the crash site and there is supposed to be another near the hospital in the near future. My thought (and this is just my thought) is that if the current band and survivors couldn't buy out the owner, it's likely impossible. You may want to research the area and see if there is a grass roots campaign. I would love to see the site saved! Keep me informed 😀

It's a shame that the landowners weren't fans.What would it hurt for people to walk in the woods anyways?It's not like they are destroying farm land or crops.
@derekcollins19724 жыл бұрын
@Ricoville That's true as far as the liability.I was thinking that this was a way for people to get a personal connection with the band and not being disrespectful.They plan on scraping the land anyway so anything that may be left will be lost for sure.My son kept the keys from my car accident because he thought I was going to die.Its just a way to hang on.

Four people died in that crash, how about having some respect ..... you guys are giddy because Scott's pile is bigger than my pile, wtf is that shit ??! You really think the investigators are gonna come up with a different finding because you found 25 pieces of jagged metal ? They knew that crap was in the ground, they don't need to find EVERY PIECE of a crash site to make a determination. Go get a job ................
@HistorySeekers5 жыл бұрын
We each have jobs making 6 figures. That is why we are not selling it like common scavenger trash. We aren’t sitting in our parents basement watching KZbin or anything. You know trying to make a difference. As for excitement, well maybe you should try making the videos. Nobody wants to watch monotone people that have to rent a personality. I am sure I’d you have anything like that you would be a bit excited too. At the end of the day we were excited to have saved history before it was lost forever. Now people can see it in museums for generations to come. You are welcome. We never said it would change the outcome. If you can read through all the report it said that they recovered everything that was not obliterated. What it parts of instruments that were not recovered unlocked what had caused the plane to fun out of fuel? I was in investigator for most of my life before getting out of law enforcement. I can tell you if I put that I recovered everything and didn’t it would be a problem. So they lied in their report essential. Oh and thanks for watching.

@@HistorySeekers You just don't get it ..... "We each have jobs making 6 figures" ... wow that makes a big difference, because you make six figures ? You're selling something here !! Anytime someone, much less four people, die in an accident there is a thought among the civic minded that you don't go tramping much less digging thru the grounds where people fuckin died ! Why do I have to explain it to you.. ? You have a misleading title, so people will watch and subscribe, and its not about money, right ?

@HistorySeekers4 жыл бұрын
If we “protected” every inch of the earth for every thing one person thinks is important we wouldn’t have any place to even turn around. You aren’t being realistic. What about preserving items like this in museums. That does a lot more than “protecting” a piece of land with a few scrap pieces of metal on it.

@@HistorySeekers you have your opinion and i have mine, putting it in a museum is great but going to where it happened is priceless ! if it was my land id NEVER sell it to anyone and made sure it stayed in the family never to be sold !
