Also Phillip II was a terrible husband to Mary. He, at the time of his marriage, was handsome, blonde, a mix of german and spaniard and most importantly young. She wasn't in her prime time (though I don't know if this classifies her as a milf tho). She was very much in love with him, he was not. He actually already started eyeing up Elizabeth as she was younger, prettier and more likely to succeed Mary. In fact he almost never visited Mary, he was cold and distant. He didn't really care for her, and when she was pregnant(i believe) he basically sent a letter saying "OK". He definitely was a cunt to her. It could be his general shy attitude (in spain he is called "el rey prudente" (the prudent king)) as he didn't make decisions in pubblic and preffered the use of letters)

How many arranged marriages worked back then. It was common for noble men to has several mistresses and/or indulge in prostitutes. Meanwhile she was expected to bear several children. Spend her teens and 20s being constsntly pregnant. If they were in love it was lucky.

YESSSS! Mary Tudor would have been a much better Monarch had her father been a better man and a better King in England. Henry the 8th was a tyrant!! Even when he separated from the Catholic church and decided to create his own church in England, he was still technically married to Catherine of Aragon under English law until June 1533 even though he married Anne Boleyn and January 1533. That's why I Elizabeth I was illegitimate. Her illegitimacy had nothing to do with the fact that Henry annulled his marriage to Anne Boleyn and prior to Anne's execution. The reason Elizabeth I was illegitimate is because her mother was pregnant with her before her mother and father were legally married. for monarchs they have this really weird thing about conception. most people are illegitimate if their parents don't get married and they become legitimate later on when their parents do marry Royals are/were different! if a royal couple got pregnant before they were married, technically the child was not legitimate because the conception was not through marriage and neither was the consummation so the Royals had to marry very quickly so no one would suspect the child wasn't conceived prior to marriage. That's why Henry the 8th married Anne Boleyn in January 1533, and it's because she got pregnant in December. they went to France to get King francis's blessing on their upcoming wedding and when he gave them their blessing and finally gave in and had sex with Henry & got pregnant. by the time she found out she was already about 5 weeks or so pregnant in January, so they had to marry quickly even though Henry's marriage to Catherine of Aragon wasn't completely annulled through the Church of England until June 1533. Henry was a bigamist and that's why there was always so much controversy about Elizabeth Tudor taking the throne because most people in and out of England thought she was illegitimate because of the way Henry married her mother. ( nothing against her personally but something that just happened before she was even born). in some ways it's a good thing she did not have any legal heirs. Elizabeth II & her family all the way back go back to Margaret Tudor, Henry VIIIs oldest sister, who had been married to King James IV of Scotland. Margaret and James IV had King James V; and King James V with Marie de deguise had Mary Queen of Scots. Mary Queen of Scots and her second husband Henry Stewart had James VI, who became king of England after Elizabeth death in 1603. technically the Windsors are descendants from Margaret Tudor and Mary Queen of Scots NOT Henrt VIII. Yessss!! Mary Queen of Scots should have been Queen of England after Mary Tudor anyway and even though she was a Catholic Queen in Scotland she was religious tolerant. she was not like the Tudors, and she was not going to kill people just because they had a different Faith than she did, nor was she going to enforce a Countrywide faith. when Mary Stuart was Queen consort in France, she didn't care that there were Protestants there, even though Francis II family definitely cared because they had a big fall out with the huguenots years later. It's just sad that Mary Stewart first husband died so young. The original plan with King Henry II of France, Vatican, Spain, & Marie deGuise ( Mary Stewart's mother who was Regent in Scotland from the time she was six days old until she was 16) was that after Mary Stuart and Francis de Vois - Daufin- married in April 1557, was that when Francis was older, France and the other surrounding countries including the Holy Roman Empire were going to invade England after Mary Tudor's death, and remove Elizabeth Tudor so that the rightful heir, Mary Stuart, would be Queen and Francis would be king consort of England. The plan was that when Francis and Mary got married, that France would absorb Scotland and then when Mary took the throne in England, it would join three countries into one. it did not work out that way because Henry II of France got injured in a jousting accident and 1558, & unlike Henry the 8th surviving, Henry II , King of France, died 10 days after his jousting accident. that was Francis as king of France when he was only 14 years old. there was no way that Mary Stewart as a fifteen-year-old queen and Francis a 14 year old king we're going to join military forces with Spain and the Holy Roman Empire to invade and remove Elizabeth Tudor from the Throne of England even though she had only been on the throne for a year at the time. the Vatican and the king of Spain decided to wait until Francis was about 17 years old to invade because he was only 15 when he became king of France. sadly Francis II developed an ear infection about a year-and-a-half into his reign in France and he died from brain swelling a month before his 17th birthday and 3 days before Mary Stewart's 18th birthday. Just sad. those people back then didn't have a chance because if they weren't slaughtered by a mad Monarch, they died from the plague, an infection or childbirth. after that happened Mary Stuart returned to rule Scotland. she remarried 4 and 1/2 years later & she and her husband were going to raise a huge Army and invade England with surrounding Catholic countries, BUT Mary Stuart second husband ended up being a jerk and he ended up getting murdered by somebody on the Scottish Council. Mary Stuart didn't really want to have anything to do with England except that every time she turned around English soldiers were crossing the border and coming in and killing some of her. subjects. she really should have been Queen of England after Mary Tudor died which is why Queen Elizabeth was always so petrified of Mary Stuart Mary Queen of Scots was kinder and outgoing person than Elizabeth Tudor. Elizabeth beaird Mary Stewart's power because of the power she held with her alliances and surrounding countries in Europe.

It's thought that something went wrong with her reproductive organs. Theories range from ovarian or uterine cancer to a molar pregnancy which eventually led to choriocarcinoma.
@muttstersmart Жыл бұрын
I’ve read that more modern historians think it’s more likely that she suffered a Molar pregnancy rather than A Phantom Pregnancy because Phantom Pregnancies are extremely Rare. Molar pregnancies are basically when a child is conceived however it doesn’t grow nor develop and as such the mother doesn’t give birth. I’m pretty sure her second false pregnancy was due to cancer. I’m pretty sure that’s what Mary died of.

Mark Archy at the time of Edward's death was indeed considered illegitimate (& younger than Jane I think) but after Mary got the boot I'm pretty sure Parlement passed an Act that legitimized her.

Wyatt rebellion was trying to overthrow Mary. They wanted to put Elizabeth on the throne
@montrelouisebohon-harris70234 жыл бұрын
Had Mary Tudor been really brilliant she would have named Mary Queen of Scots as her successor because technically she was. Just because Elizabeth Tudor was King Henry the eighth's daughter did not make her legitimate. It didn't have anything to do with the Pope not annulling Henry and Catherine of Aragon's marriage, but what Henry did wrong was that he married Anne Boleyn and January 1533 & his annulment from Catherine of Aragon through the Church of England didn't finish going through until June 1533. Therefore, he was a bigamist. That technically made Elizabeth illegitimate. I'm merely speaking from a legal point of view because I'm a lawyer but if Mary Tudor wanted to keep England Catholic, she should have named Mary Queen of Scots as her successor, and technically in many eyes she was the next in line for the throne. It was the " MEN" that didn't want Mary Queen of Scots on the ENGLISH throne.
@muttstersmart Жыл бұрын
@@montrelouisebohon-harris7023 Mary Queen of Scots probably wouldn’t have been beheaded had she been named Mary I of England’s successor. Her husband Philip was probably one of the “MEN” as he didn’t like Scotland and he had high hopes to marry Elizabeth and stay King. Of course, Philip got his comeuppance when Elizabeth turned him down and then later in life defeated the Spanish Armada.

Sometimes the shorter videos can spark the interest for people to see the longer videos. I'm not sure that it's a question of "fair" as much as it's a question of giving fewer details.

That's so sad what Edward and all those council members did to Jane Grey because she was used as a pawn all along. Mary Tudor was not heartless and she really did not want to execute Jane because she knew it wasn't her fault and she knew it was the man and the council members that did it, alongside her half-brother. it's just that in some way she really didn't have much Choice considering that Jane Grey technically did usurp the throne and she had to suffer the consequences.

@montrelouisebohon-harris70234 жыл бұрын
@Von Staufenberg Mary Tudor was nowhere as bad as her father or her half-sister Elizabeth. People talk about Elizabeth the first being the best Monarch in England but that is not the true that all. She was one of the most longest running monarchs but that didn't make her the best by any means and she was killing Catholics by way of hanging, drawing, and quartering them just like her father. Elizabeth and Edward were not that dissimilar but Edward truly believe his two half-sisters to be illegitimate because his father divorced one mother and annulled the other, in addition to cutting off her head. I never cared for Queen Elizabeth the first and England had many more monarchs that were far superior to her. she was nuts, paranoid, and vain exactly like her father. that's the only reason she never married and it was because she was so damned paranoid she feared her King consort would try to take power from her. after Mary Tudor died Mary Queen of Scots really should have been on the throne of England, & Elizabeth had Mary Stuart executed because she was petrified of being taken over by surrounding Catholic countries, and having them put Mary Stuart on the throne. despite Mary being executed in secret, it all worked out for the best because Mary Stuart's son, James, was next in line to the throne of England. James 1 England & James VI of Scotland. James had his mother exhumed and had her buried in Westminster Abbey. Elizabeth the first did absolutely nothing for her mother!! I've always thought Elizabeth I was a bitch. it's so nice that Elizabeth II and all of their heirs are descendants from Margaret Tudor and Mary Queen of Scots- Not Henry VIII.
