Hit LONGER DRIVES By Using The CORRECT Tee Height For YOU!!! Hit longer drives by using the correct tee height for you! How how to tee the golf ball? Everyone wants to hit longer drives off the tee, leading to shorter clubs into the green, lower scores and basically bragging rights from your friends. But I see so many golfers who tee the ball at the wrong height and its costs them not only distance but also accuracy. To make sure we hit the three main points to good long straight drives, its mega important we use the correct tee height. Lets do it, and lets do it now!

I use 3 1/4" tees and barely have them sticking in the ground. I tee higher than most anyone I play with. I evidently have a very ascending path with the driver because that gives me an ideal strike location on the club face every time.

I tee it high and off my big toe. High low spinners. Have to release late. Spine angle back and maintain that spine angle through the swing until the ball is long gone. No sky marks this year as of yet, knock on wood. I use unbreakables. White. I have never bought tees. I have hundreds of found tees. I tee it up medium for lower into the wind shots. I tee it up low for stingers and further back still for stingers.

Very interesting. I generally use the pink. Now and again I’ll use the orange if it’s downwind. But it doesn’t matter what tee I use if my swing isn’t consistent. Lol

Switched to orange tees after a lesson, but do have to put the ball slightly more forward. Never looked back though. Convinced driving range rubber tees are purposely small to make you hit bad drives...meaning more lessons and equipment bought.

I’m a fairly strict adherent to the half ball above the driver crown rule. Into wind and maybe about an eighth an inch lower

I’ve been using an orange castle tee for years and had decent results but can sometimes be incredibly inconsistent when I’m not “on it”. I’ve never considered changing until i watched your video yesterday. As an experiment I tried using the pink tee tonight and shot 8 under my handicap on the front 9 holes. My driver was on fire! Consistent shape and at least as long if not longer than normal. Absolutely buzzing right now! Can’t wait to play again.

As someone new to golf, I was hitting my driver fairly consistently, with a draw and many going 200-230 yards. I watched a video where the instructor said to tee the ball higher for more distance. The result is more of a severe pull to the left, most going lower, and definitely not as long. After watching your video, I am returning to the height of half a ball over the club head. BTW, my tees have marks on them, so I can consistently tee at the same height. And I don’t search for used tees on the ground! Rafa

Blue is great for 5W and 3W off the tee - don’t knock them! Agree pink off the tee for driver is great.

I use a wooden cable tee that is the same height as the orange but this week I did have my wedge driver in the bags on a couple of holes!

Good Morning James from Southwest Utah in the US. I use the brush golf tees. They come in 4 sizes. I have good success with them however I haven't used the 2 smaller ones which are for Hybrids and irons. Big golfing trip coming up. I will be playing the golf course where the pga senior skins game use to be played. Kaanapali Royal golf course. I will also be playing the Kai course which is the sister course at Kaanapali. Love the channel.

James, I’ve been using the pink tee for a good few months now and my playing buddies mocked me for it until I gave them a couple each and now they are also using them 😜 the one thing we all agree on is using broken wooden tees for the par 3’s so we carry wooden tees and leave them in the tee box for others.

Totally right. I was using orange and a colleague said try teeing lower and he leant me a pink tee and it was staying lower and going 20/30 yards further.

I use a Champange Tee that has a plastic ring to set it at the correct height for my driver. You have to hit hit in the middle of the club and on the upswing. I love pink tees.

Very good video! I’ve often wondered how the different tee heights and tees will affect my shots. I recently bought about five or six different types of tees and I want to test them to see if there’s any difference. The contact points to the ball all very, some cup the ball, some have 3 to 4 points that contact the ball, and one has a brush that contacts the ball. That would be a very good video for you to do.

I play a links. Cold and or very windy, pink tee. Usual windy weather, orange. It does seem to work for me. Although I do drive the ball a little further off of an orange tee.

I found I had to go up to the orange because I would quite often top some drives with the pink. I would get away with more with the orange especially if I'm trying to give it a bit more than usual.

Use a pink tee to get a visual on your index finger and push a normal tee in to that point. Gives you less resistance on strikes and more consistent ball flights. The castle shape can cause interference believe it or not 😉 Do it a few times and it’ll stay in your memory forever 😂 If I do use a pink tee coz it’s all I have I push it in and out then back in to have the ground contact looser than just shoving it in the ground especially on firm ground.

I tee it low if my swing is off. I give up distance but find the fairway more often hitting down on it. If I want to bomb it I tee it up and hit up on it but I tend to pull it left.

I think my tee peg high is good but am consistently hitting on the toe like on the toe of the club, even though I set up to the ball with it positioned on the inside heel. Hard telling not knowing but thinking either swing path, which I've been working a ton on or can setting up with the ball to far forward cause this issue??

Put yourself in the impact position at address. Then you will most likely see that the impact position you think you are in at impact, or the position you should be in at impact, isn't where you actually are at impact. Maybe it is, idk, but if you can may contact in the same position at address you will be more consistent. You obviously are not setting up to match your contact distance. Your hands are closer to your body at impact obviously so set up with your hands closer to your body.

I feel like tee height is just another factor and depends on swing speed, attack angle, and dynamic loft. We see long drivers get away with really high tees because they can swing a 5* driver at 130-140mph, launch it up in the air with high ball speed and low spin.
