How cool. My father took us to Galveston/Padre Island a couple of times in the 70s on vacation. We are from Ok. I remember seeing the old Victorian homes, and learning about the hurricane that just about wiped out Galveston..err..I think it was Galveston. Anyway, I knew about hitching posts because we have many of the same types of things here. However, I don't ever recall learning anything about or seeing any of those Carriage Step things. Even today, without having watched this video. If I saw one, I would have thought how creepy to have a gravestone in your front yard lol. Even tho I know of homes right here where I live that do indeed have former owners buried on the land, and often the grave ends up in someones back lawn. Creeps me out a little. lol. I'm old enough to know better but still. Yikes. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this informative series.
