If Newcastle have been lucky in picking up points the opposite is true for Sheffield utd .. the majority of their defeats have been by the finest of margins and their XG suggests that they are unlucky not to have more points. West Brom have easily been the worst team and now Newcastle could easily join them. Shame but its Ashley's fault. If Newcastle get relegated that will be 3 relegations in 13 years at a club that should never get relegated. You're so right to call out the pundits, true geordie is always trying to do the same. I think Steve Bruce should could have a case for more time given his results last year, but, if he does go, never understood why they didn’t previously ask Alan Shearer and his old strike partner and experienced manager friend Mike Newell, they won the premiership together I think, with Chris Sutton and Kevin Gallagher as other big strikers. From memory Newell did well at Luton on no money, I’ve read is a friend of Alan Shearer’s, and would offer him an experienced critical friend option. And again offer what Alan doesn’t have, years of management experience, Newell would offer him this knowledge. Flash names are great but Shearer and Newell they touted for Blackburn a few years back and ex-Blackburn players were all for it, never materialised... we all want Guardiola but realism and the notion that we have half a season left would give Alan Shearer a chance this time round, 8 games last time wasn’t a fair crack. Newell was in the running for a while with the bookies for a recent job, think he’d be a good assistant option for the man we all want back in Shearer.

Yeah, this is an awful time for Newcastle fans. Two things need to happen to get rid of Mike Ashley: 1. Get relegated. 2. Miss out on promotion the first season back in the Championship. If those two things happen, and Ashley got a reasonable offer, I think he'd sell up. Both times Newcastle got relegated in the last 20 years saw an immediate bounce back into the Premier League and then few or no forward steps being taken or the manager's ambitions not being matched by the Club, in the case of Rafa. Obviously ASM will get sold as soon as anyone waves a bundle of cash near Mike Ashley for him (same for Almiron), but Joelinton is so poor it'll be impossible to sell him. I don't entirely blame Steve Bruce for this mess but I definitely blame the idiot who hired him.

So in the last video where I asked this to be made, I stuck up for Steve Bruce a little bit and said he's not doing as bad as he could be. Then the Sheffield United result happened and this was made after it and... It's getting so hard to even say a good thing. That said though... Rafa was a top manager but people act like his results were astounding and he was attacking teams from the off. He was just as bad in his football play style. It'd be a reverse decision to want him back. Also - If we do sack Bruce and we probably will soon, I just know for a fact we'll get Tony Pulis.
