I downloaded davinchi but it's pretty shit, because it's really hard to set up, it doesn't want to save bitrate and framerate settings.

I've never tried hit film, but I recently tried resolve and even went back to Vegas Pro for a while but I honestly missed Premiere. It has its problems and definitely could use improvement but its hard to beat the workflow, professional grade quality and user friendliness. It does exactly what I need and I know exactly how to use it. And for 20 bucks a month, not bad

I went from Hitfilm to Davinci Resolve because of the timeline lagging and awkward interface. Now even with these changes for the better, I think I will still stay with Resolve. I'm really liking Resolve. It's top notch.......

Just tried it and... Wow! I wish all updates in the world would be so effective! You didn`t mention another awesome thing (unless I missed it), the new preview options. Having it set draft quality on playback and full on pause is priceless for those who have slow computers, no need to switch back and forth anymore!

I just got the new version of Express within the past few days (yeah, pretty late), and wow it's a really nice update... laggy timeline scrubbing is pretty much gone, and putting numerous text objects throughout a video isn't as much of a drag now. thank goodness

I had to go back to 11 due to bugs in the first version 12 for PC. They have fixed a lot of them in an update since then but I ran into a major one that would not show changes made in the Composite Window, but would show them in the Editor. I gave up for now and have gone back to 11 once again so I could get stuff done. I'll wait till they figure out the issues a bit more..

Haven't had time to download and tinker yet but very excited to see the improved performance. Having a powerful editing box never meant much previously. Hopefully, new HF can leverage my computer better and make for a faster workflow. Anxious to try the color-coding for the same workflow speed improvements.

This new version is seriously jacked up. Several of the composites created in the previous version no longer play back correctly. Some imported video files used in composites that were working in the previous version, no longer play correctly or only play for a second then freeze while the rest of the timeline plays on. Other projects from the previous version do the same thing with some clips only playing back partially. I would wait on updating, guys. We have gone back to the previous version were all is working as it should.

Yeah that's happened to me a lot, especially hard to work with when making something like a montage. This is one of the performance issues Hitfilm has and the lag is one of the reasons I switched to premiere, i hope fxhome fixes it in an update that would be great

In a previous video, you mention that you don't use hitfilm to edit your videos. Your primary reason was because of its sluggishness. Does this new performance enhancement change your mind now? Also, one of the comments mentioned issues with Ryzen CPU's. I hadn't heard about problems with Ryzen processors. What compatibility issues are there with the CPU? I understand that AMD graphics card acceleration isn't yet supported but I hadn't heard anything about Hitfilm having issues with Ryzen CPU's...

scrubbing performance in hitfilm 12 is definitely much better, but it seems they introduced a bunch of bugs. some of my old projects won't load in 12 anymore, they always crash the new version. the text animation effects are way overdue. still missing the ability to cut+paste transitions. it gets real tedious making 100's of transitions with the same modified settings.

Shiny? What am I doing wrong? I have an issue with my export speeds. I just exported a 10 minute video and it took 24 hours to process. However, HitFilm has not crashed since I started using HitFilm Express 12. I like the updates, but 24 hours to process, is way long. Can you help me out? Thanks for all your videos. I am using Hitfilm Express 13 and have received notice of 14 being available for download from Jan. 16th. I'm no spring chicken and wish I could find away to enlarge the actual commands text on the home screen and please, IF you have any sway with FXHome please ask them, beg them, to please MOVE the button that takes you to the start of your whole clip further away from one frame left click button. The amount of times I have accidentally clicked the wrong button is frustrating beyond words. Thank you.

thank you for the video! do you know if the projects done in a previous version would be able to open? if I downloaded the version on the 13th of February (HitFilmExpress_x64_11.0.8319.47197) I guess it was just before the release of a new version? :). I did not upgrade yet because have a few different projects started and don't want to lose my old ones. also is there an option for multiple timelines in editor? (let's say if you want to finetune some sequences without leaving the project.

I was super hyped when I saw this. Then I tried to open a video i've been editing in an older version in the new version, and the audio is all screwed up, some audio clips just flat out dont play, some are totally unsynced with the video, and some areas of video are more choppy now than in the previous video. So I guess Ill stick with the old version.

I started using the new Hitfilm and everytime I try to press play in the previewer for my composite shot the preview video skips way ahead either to the next cut or like 4 min ahead. It sometimes plays the audio of where I wanted the previewing to start but then the preview picture buffers and it's really frustrating. Maybe it's because the video I'm using has multiple audio tracks, but Idk because this never happened to me in the older version of Hitfilm.

OK, I found a Reddit thread that said you have to go to the top right of Hit Film and press the blue activate button. If it doesn't work right away keep your cursor on the button until a separate Hit Film notification pops up telling you to restart Hit Film. HOPE THIS HELPS! IT WORKED FOR ME! Let me know!

I used to get an option to make composite shots before i am about to start working with a file(like before the update it would show the options whether i want to make a composite shot or edit a video)..I used to make thumbnails using the composite shot options .. now that option is gone....a bit confused on how to go about it now...

Once you've created a project, just go to the media panel and select New -> Composite Shot. Hopefully this will get you to where you were in the previous version.

Despite the update, hit film keeps crashing for me, usually a few minutes into use. Only video editing programs do this for my computer. I have a fairly new higher end laptop, but it won't stop crashing. Any ideas?

I just downloaded this and it is not only insanely slow, but it needs to load absolutely everything I do. If I want to find the perfect light sword thickness, and I drag my mouse, it won’t do anything until I let go of the mouse and wait at least 5 seconds for it to load. Also, when I try to playback, it goes at about 2 frames per second. Can someone please help me? I’m desperate!!

Might stick to Hitfilm 4, whenever I use text in Hitfilm 12, it just crashes. I don't know if I need to ditch Hitfilm 4 or whatever, but Hitfilm 12 just doesn't work on my PC.

I'm stuck, I downloaded the software just fine, but when I try to open it, it asks me to update my GPU driver. I've looked at youtube tutorials on how to update graphics drivers, and some seem sketchy and all the ones that are legit are old videos in which the technique doesn't work anymore.

Go to the website of your card manufacturer and download from there, it's like updating your phone, nothing sketchy about it. Don't use 3rd party sites, just go to Nvidia, Intel, AMD or whatever your card is.

You probably used a pro effect (lut etc.) You can still export it, but it will have that watermark. It should be fine once you remove it.

Hitfilm will duplicate the save file, then it will try to update it. So nothing is broken
