Ricks videos have helped me a lot. From getting me back into the game to having me doing my research on the top drivers and guiding my 16 yr old son into picking up the G 430 last week and he loves it. We were in search of the easiest new driver to hit and feel confident we found it! He’s hit it once at the range and has played a round with it. I’ve only gotten to hit 2 balls with it but both were dead straight. I’ve been super impressed. Now it’s time to find the right 3 wood. Looking forward to hitting G430, Steath, Paradym and the Titliest.

Yesterday here in Thailand I bought an immaculate secondhand Callaway Big Bertha 3 wood from 2014 for £40. So I was interested to see if Rick reviewed it nine years ago. He did, liked it and his average carry distance with it was 249 yards. The exact same distance he got with this new £500 3 wood. I think that is significant.
This is exactly the type of review I have come to expect from your channel. Checking against the previous year and the non LST version while testing them on the same day with the same swing, brilliant. That leaves no guess work, you can see exactly what kind of performance it can offer compared to other (cheaper) versions of the same club. Looking forward to more reviews!

I'm just curious, but what do you consider mid/high handicap. In my opinion, club reviews for high handicappers are usually pointless...unless it's slice/hook correction for a driver. You'd be better off taking lessons than trying to fix things with new clubs.

Most players I know who have the G425/430 drivers go for the Max rather than the LST including low handicappers. Most also go for the Max 3-wood. Great start for the new channel.
@joshuat71715 ай бұрын
I can attest. The Max has been really good to me. Really good. I had trouble hitting woods, but the Ping max in 425 or 430 especially are really customizable and fit my eye and swing great. I can actually work the ball left or right. I can hit the 3 off the deck and it goes straight. I would recommend the max over the others for all levels of golfers.

I'm so excited and so damn jealous over the HIT studio! You're truly living my dream with the simulator, amazing adjustable putting green, and just that room itself is incredible, Rick! The price of clubs has gotten scary the last few years. $600 drivers, £500 3 woods, $400 Scotty Cameron putters... I mean, where does it end?! I keep waiting to see $300 wedges and $100 per dozen ProVs and TP5s! I fear it will eventually get to a point where only the lucky and financially elite can play this sport, and that's not what it's supposed to be about! I know you don't have to spend thousands on equipment to play, but I also feel like new clubs don't need to cost so much.

Nice review. Would I pay, £500 for a 3 wood? No. I wouldn’t pay that for a Driver or putter either. But as you say, this club is for perhaps the better players out there. Even then I dare say better players on a bit of a budget would balk at the price tag. Especially if you can get the G425 3 wood for much better money. I know, would look at the G425, rather than the G430. My game certainly isn’t good enough to warrant the silly expense.
@jasonguy946 Жыл бұрын
Great video Rick. I’m a 5.5 handicap golfer and have just brought the G425 Max 3 wood. I felt at half the price and with the extra forgiveness and consistency at the odd few that go an extra 10 to 15 yards further with the G430 LST was not justifiable for my game. Great clubs though

That would be a GREAT Series! Grant Horvat has some shorts of him tweaking a a few guys swing and them immediately hitting better. I love watching those. Great start, Rick! Kudos for comparing it to other Ping models in both performance and price. Since you had all 3 heads available it would have been nice to see video shots for side-by-side-by-side comparisons from above and from the face. Something to consider for future videos, perhaps. I couldn’t help but notice that while the new G430 was the longest overall with more consistent distance, it had the worst (widest) dispersion of the 3 models. Definitely not for the high handicapper based on that as they would want more forgiveness at the expense of some distance. It will be interesting to see what Simon at SAS Golf has to say in a year’s time when used ones are more available.

Great video. I especially appreciated how you addressed how the club was going left to right most likely due to your handicap. As a bogey golfer I was afraid that you wouldn’t address people below your handicap. Still would like some possible “guest” golfers with higher handicaps to help with the numbers for us that have a 210 average with driver for example as well as women. Maybe pick a few people from a range or a subscriber to show some numbers for the less fortunate and aspiring golfers. Great first review.

Constructive criticism from me would be the sound appears to be a little inconsistent, but the biggest criticism would be that the brightness of your “windows” is a bit distracting.
