My neighbor is an Indian and now a hardware engineer at Intel Santa Clara. He borrowed 1.6 million to add ADU to his home in Fremont, CA in order to pursue "financial freedom". For two years, what he did was to monitor the construction progress. I have never seen him to go to office. I am curious how a hardware engineer can work from home all the time? I used to work in Intel Microprocessor Division in Jones Farm and received Microprocessor Division Award from Andy Grove. I am really perplexed to see what is happening in today's Intel.

Today's Intel is like a house going to collapse, you can see many abnormal things, you Don't know who is doing which job

It is not just Intel... I had options of working from home or multiple locations in SoCal for a medical device company... I used to have problems with my in-office equipment because they kept on disappearing from my desks due to my lack of attendance. I would email IT support and was told that they were also working from home and could only take care of my issues when they come back to their assigned office days... you know your WFH policy is out of hands when IT Technicians are also working from home and can't take care of your on-site technical issues during normal business hours...

@@CharDaiDaddy My company's owners subleased one of the buildings they leased, brand new buildings, because we are a WFH company forever. People only go in if they have to, America is really not a country for manufacturing jobs anymore, the culture has forever changed.
Every new job my son gets is a promotion. He's thirty this year. To his peers not switching jobs is a sign of complacency not necessarily considered as merit by employers.
