i was literally 5 when i played my first hitman game(hitman 2 silent Assassin). I watched my brother complete missions and i use to copy him step by step because i didn't know anything about the game. it's crazy how over the years I've seen hitman grow and evolve and how it grew with me as the first one came out a year after i was born i am going to be 21 this week and to see the the series is coming to a pause next year really makes me emotional and shit for some reason. If the developers read this I want you to know that I'm grateful for what you've done and I wish all of you good luck. you guys are the best!

I think the “World of Assassination” trilogy is the most overlooked game trilogy ever. I have hundreds of hours into the first two games and I’m sure it will be hundreds more with Hitman 3. I will miss this series whether it goes away forever or takes a long break.

It's going to be at the least a very long break. This trilogy started development in 2013, with the release of the final part in 2021 and a planned 1+ year of live services after that they will have worked on the game for nearly a decade. They already announced their next game is in development and is not Hitman. If and when they continue Hitman you can expect it would be a minimum of 2025 before you hear anything about it.

I always thought a really cool idea to implement into the game was to give us the ability to hide inside a body bag so the security guards could drag us somewhere that would otherwise be a bit difficult to get to. But I doubt they put that in the game.

I just hope all the levels are not super gritty i love how miami and whittleton creek contrasted with sgail island and mumbai because it gave me a spectrum of tones when I was looking to replay a level again. To have all the levels be similar, in my opinion, can be boring from repetition. I’m super hyped about this game coming out either way!

@@omarsheriff51 The older games were way better designed. The hits in the new games are all rushed, you have to hit and run. Old games you could take your time with each hit an no need to run away, you could just stroll off like a badass assassin. These new games are poorly designed so glue a bodyguard to each target to make up for poor level design which makes it 2 targets in one everytime as you always need to get rid of the bodyguards to. The old games are miles better.

Also, often the maps are designed around the possibilities of a game. The old hotel map is absolutely not meant to include all theses possibilities and the opportunity system. I would strongly advise them to bring refreshed legacy maps. They can't be good. Also, maps have gotten so much more complex and multi layered than in the older games. Even though I have good memories about the old Hitman games, I'm happy to leave them behind when playing the new ones.

as someone who started the series only in hitman 2 (the current trilogy), i would greatly look forward to seeing the old levels in this engine. i understand Sveeny's point, but I believe a good compromise could be reached if they were basically updated and expanded upon. sure it would take a long time; no one would be asking for them to rush such great content. but this would give the opportunity for new players like me to experience story from old games, while giving veterans both nostalgia but new side content and depth to the levels they grew up with. assuming this is handled well, im sure it would be well worth it!

I'm glad they mentioned mastery, gear, weapons, progression will carry over from Hitman 2. It's impossible to understate the difference that makes between purchasing HM3 or not for me. While you're at it, why not make earning XP/mastery achievements offline a thing as well. And those who want extra online content can have that as an optional feature.

Can we make it so the „silent assassin” indicator next to the minimap turns yellow if you were only spotted by a camera? EDIT: To clarify, what I meant is that the icon while in-session should turn yellow if all you didwas get spotted by a camera for a second, to signal that all you have to do is delete the footage to get the SA rating back. I have reset SASO missions many times because I thought I was spotted by an npc or a body was found for it to turn out it was only the camera.

I loved the series since Hitman codename 47 and I'm so glad the franchise is still rocking with quality titles. Personally I loved the idea of going back to a darker tone since I miss so much the atmosphere of the older games. I would really like as well that they turned down the scripted events.. There are so many "opportunities" that finding and complete them is too easy and random, there's almost no challenge to find a way to kill a target in the main missions, the challege usually comes from "finding all the ways" but that is not very immersive. My best moments of Hitman is when I find a really creative way of killing a very difficult target on my own manner, no scripted stuff.

I doubt they would go away from a feature that has been so prominent in the first two games of this trilogy. Maybe they can give the option to turn it off, or give more general directions (for example, "turn on the fire alarm", but not showing where this is). As a more casual gamer, I find these opportunities quite helpful while at the same time I can agree that they both remove some of the fun in finding a creative way, but also that it makes me feel like I've not done it wrong if I kill someone outside of an opportunity.

I hope they bring back the accident system from Hitman: Blood Money where you could kill innocents with accidents and still get silent assassin. I also think that they should buff snipers in a way that it'd give you a "sniper kill" instead of a "ballistic kill" from a certain range, then have the body be findable by npc's like how it works now with accident kills and poison kills without ruining silent assassin.

This trilogy really was a huge part of this decade for me. 2016 was probably the worst year I’ve had in recent times, but Hitman 2016 made chugging through the year so much easier. I did absolutely none of the challenges in Sapienza but i still got to mastery 20 - that game was great. 2018 was a good year for me, mostly due to the sheer amount of excellent games. Hitman 2 was one of them. This game is undoubtedly in my Top 10 of the decade and top 5 of 2018. Living through the hype for Hitman 2 and the amount of people who played it at launch was stunning, and I will never stop playing this game until Hitman 3 releases. Now Hitman 3. This trilogy has been something I’ve played spanning 5 years of my life. Whenever I think back to these past 5 years, I can no longer think of the awful memories that plagued most of my days but only see through rose tinted glasses, with the help of games. Hitman was certainly one of these franchises. Thank you for simply being passionate and making good games.

Agreed. The new game is sterile in tone, and the comedic bits are too over-the-top and too often. Just feels silly all the time. The contrast between playing any of the older games and then switching to the new is just enormous. Even playing Absolution and then the new game is like turning off an "atmosphere" switch.

It's not only that I absolutely love this franchise but the core of people hanging with it. The developer studio is extraordinary awesome sticking with all the ideas of the community and the community itself. These guys are doing God's work. I've been playing Hitman since the first game back in 2000 or so and the series did have its ups and downs over the years... These guys were not afraid to experiment, so we had installments like Absolution that most fans didn't like, but we also had Blood Money that we all loved. And then, this final trilogy (I hope it's not really final). They took all the feedback that they received from the players over the years and decided to build this masterpiece. And I love how they're emphasizing they're doing it for the fans... Thank you, guys!

The best part about Hitman 3 is that even if the new missions suck, it comes with remasters of Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 with a new toolset from h3 to use in those, it really can't go wrong.

Story is great. For the first time. What becomes more important after that is exploring all the details that weren't necessary to complete the story, find new ways to solve puzzles.. heck, sometimes just create mayhem to see if I can get myself out alive, or see if the AI holds up, or breaks down. Dropping a body off a balcony into a crowd below to hear them freak out.. What we need is an editor (Contracts are a good start), but also options to Kidnap, Interrogate, strip ANY character and put OTHER clothes on them.. set up false clues for the guards.. let it fully be a Sim or Sandbox, as well as the main Story Mode. Add more fun things like Wood Chippers, cool places to Snipe from.. open up more "unused" doors and buildings to let people explore.. the whole thing.

Wtf! KZbinrs are full-of-that-crap you know. -Patients turn over their health to doctors, eating bad, sues fast food restaurants . Lovers turn over their happiness to their partner, people don't know anymore on how to make himself happy, instead it's up to the partner all the time. Workers turn over job satisfaction to their managers, the managers hires people to work for him to get salary to himself and all the others. And the manager gets to work the most so he crashes.. and so on. It's not right in this world anymore anywhere you look. What would it be if you could create your own agent-47 and you end up making him for example, you make him look like the clown of Ronald McDonald, he either get to be a softy petting kittens all day or you end up making -47 a Terminator Look-alike witch he would be unstoppable with god mode powers.. I'll bet you would make him look like a Wizard that can have magical powers and everything. Oops. No offense, You "The Wizard. The game would die fast i think. Do you see where i'm going with this. Just no!" If there's costumes in the game that's one thing, you will have to go into a character within a character.. that's it. But when you add too much creativity in the game.. it's not going to be good. See, the agency has already shaped agent-47 preferences of being a Hitman.. It's just like they they wanted. Once is enough.. or something like that. I'm just midnight mumbling.. does anyone have any thoughts .. Never mind me asking this was just my spontaneously thinking of all this.

I feel like the next step would be to add some kind of "custom levels" where players/modders could make their own levels that others could play. Games like Skyrim, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, Gothic trilogy, Minecraft... are a perfect example of how powerful the modding community can be 😊
