Evg.എം ഇ ചെറിയാൻ - "കൊച്ചു സർ" എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന മഹാനായ സുവിശേഷകൻ (1917-1993) “MEC” എന്ന ചുരുക്കപ്പേരിൽ പ്രശസ്തനായ സുവിശേഷകനായിരുന്നു ചെറിയാൻ സാർ എന്ന് ആളുകൾ സ്നേഹപൂർവ്വം വിളിച്ചിരുന്ന എം. ഇ. ചെറിയാൻ. കർത്തൃകരങ്ങളിൽ അന്ത്യം വരെ അത്യുജ്വലമായി ഉപയുക്തമാക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ആയുധമായിരുന്നു ഈ ദൈവദാസൻ. കേരളത്തിലെ ബ്രദറൺ വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലെ നൂതന വ്യക്തിത്വങ്ങളിൽ പ്രമുഖനായിരുന്നു ബ്രദർ. എം. ഇ. ചെറിയാൻ. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹവും കൃപയും കൊണ്ട് പ്രൈമറി സ്കൂൾ അധ്യാപകനായിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു മഹാസുവിശേഷകനായിത്തീർന്നു.കേരളത്തിലെ കുറിയന്നൂർ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിൽ 1917-ൽ ജനിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം 1993 ഒക്ടോബർ രണ്ടാം തിയതി തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ മധുരയിൽ അന്തരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിതം അനേകഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ചലനങ്ങൾ ഉളവാക്കി. ബ്രദറൺ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖമായ രണ്ട് സംഘടനകളുടെ - YMEF, ബാലസംഘം - പ്രയോക്താവ്, അനേകം ഭവനങ്ങളിൽ കടന്നു ചെന്ന് ആദരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ‘സുവിശേഷകൻ’ മാസികയുടെ പത്രാധിപർ, ക്രൈസ്തവ മലയാളികളുടെയെല്ലാം ഹൃദയത്തുടിപ്പുകളായിത്തീർന്ന അനേക ഗാനങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവ്, മധുര ബൈബിൾ സ്കൂളിൻറെ സ്ഥാപകൻ, ഒട്ടേറെ വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ സഞ്ചരിച്ച് സത്യസുവിശേഷം പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ച സുവിശേഷ വീരൻ, മണിക്കൂറുകളോളം ശ്രോതാക്കളെ പിടിച്ചിരുത്തുന്ന അസുലഭ വാഗ്മിത്വത്തിന്റെ ഉടമ, കവിതയുടെ കാതൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയ കാവ്യകാരൻ, തിരുവചനമെന്ന ഖനിയുടെ ആഴങ്ങളിൽ മുങ്ങിത്തപ്പി അമൂല്യ രത്നങ്ങൾ മുറിച്ചെടുത്ത് അക്ഷരങ്ങളുടെ രൂപം നല്കി അനുവാചകരെ അനുഗ്രഹീതരാക്കിയ ഗ്രന്ഥകാരൻ, കണ്ണുനീരിന്റെിയും പരിശോധനയുടെയും വേളകളിൽ മനം തുറന്നു പാടിക്കൊണ്ട് സ്വയം തോണി തുഴഞ്ഞു മുന്നേറിയ അനുപമ വ്യക്തിത്വത്തിന്റെക ഉടമ - എന്നിങ്ങനെ വാക്കുകൾ കൊണ്ട് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാനാവുന്നതിലും അതീതനായ ഒരു ദൈവപുരുഷനായിരുന്നു എം. ഇ. ചെറിയാൻ.കേരളത്തിലെ സഹോദര വിശ്വാസികളിൽ ഏറ്റവും നൂതനമായ വ്യക്തിത്വമായിരുന്നു സർ എം ഇ ചെറിയാൻ. പ്രൈമറി സ്കൂൾ അദ്ധ്യാപകൻ മുതൽ ദൈവാനുഗ്രഹത്താലും അനുഗ്രഹത്താലും ഈ കൊച്ചു സാർ വലിയ സുവിശേഷകനായി. 1917-ൽ കേരളത്തിലെ കുറിയന്നൂരിൽ നിന്ന് ആരംഭിച്ച് 1993 ഒക്ടോബർ 2-ന് തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ മധുരയിൽ സമാപിച്ച അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹീതമായ ജീവിതയാത്രയുടെ കാൽപ്പാടുകൾ ബ്രദറൺ വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലും ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ബ്രദറൻ അസംബ്ലികളുടെ ചരിത്രത്താളുകളിലും പതിഞ്ഞ ഓർമ്മകളാണ്. 1917-ൽ കേരളത്തിലെ പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിൽ കുറിയന്നൂർ കരയിൽ താന്നിക്കപുറത്തോട്ടു ടി ഇ ഈശോ ഏല്യാമ്മ ദമ്പതികളുടെ മകനായി 1917 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 17 ൽ ജനനം 9 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ കുമ്പനാട് ബ്രെത്റൻ കൺവെൻഷനിൽ വെച്ച് രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു 15 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം അധ്യാപകനായി. 24 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം Y.M.E.F (യുവജനങ്ങളുടെ ഇവാഞ്ചലിക്കൽ ഫെല്ലോഷിപ്പ്) ആരംഭിച്ചു. തന്റെ അധ്യാപന ജോലി ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച്, 25 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു ഭാര്യ , മക്കൾ 8 പേർ (5 ആൺ കുട്ടികൾ 3 പെൺ കുട്ടികൾ) തങ്ങളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂൽ പുത്രന് അവർ ജെയിംസ് എന്ന് പേരിട്ടു. അതിനുശേഷം 3 ആണ്മക്കളെയും 4 പെണ്മ്ക്കളെയും കൂടെ നല്കുവാൻ ദൈവം പ്രസാദിച്ചു. 26 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അവൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി. 31 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം തന്റെ ആദ്യ ലേഖനം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; 36 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം ബാലസംഘം(കല്ലിശ്ശേരി), സുവിശേഷകൻ മാസിക തുടങ്ങി. 37 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം മധുര ബൈബിൾ സ്കൂൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് 75 വയസ്സുള്ളപ്പോൾ കെ വി സൈമൺ അവാർഡ് ലഭിച്ചു. 76 )o വയസ്സിൽ 1993 ഒക്ടോബർ 2-ന് അദ്ദേഹം മഹത്വത്തിലേക്ക് എടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു, 106 വർഷം തികയുന്നു 2023. നിത്യതയിലും നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലും വസിക്കുന്നു.
