well the engine architecture is over 20 years old. Its the zx9r engine, so yeah they made alot of improvements with it between the z1000, z1000sx ninja 1000sx and versys 1000 LT
@PaZuZu8712 ай бұрын
Do your research..there are even 600 supersports..Zx6r with 278000 miles and a Cbr600f with 332000 miles
@MJT-DA2 ай бұрын
@@PaZuZu871 i saw that one but you have to ignore the service manual and do services early it was designed to only last till 80,000kms that zx6r had its services either cut in half or over done. I work at a bike shop and they blow headgaskets often as they’re used to being on that track. If you baby it and perform the services earlier than theyre supposed they will last long. On the other hand the z900, 1000sx and versys 1000 were designed to be on the street only so they last long as they dont have to be stressed all the time like the 600cc screamers.

Wow man, 100K kms it's wild! And have you had any major service for the bike? Like valve clearance adjustment, clutch plates replacement, steering bearings, drive chain replacement, etc? I have a 2021 Z900 and I also felt the lack of power on the top end so I ended up having a full system, K&N filter and a power commander and I can say it feels way better, added a dynojet quick shifter and the thing fly since the start. I had to put on a brake upgrade, added some Brembo Stylema with a bracket to change the mounting to radial and Hel steel braided lines matched with a Hel radial master cyclinder. I'm still looking for some more upgrades as I plan to keep this bike for a good long time.

If your bike is fixable I would just stick with it for as long as possible honestly, see how long you can keep it going! If you get more power you might reach that point where you're never really tapping into all of it, which is usually less fun than getting all the power out of a less powerful bike.

The fact that its crazy on low rpm but goes completely nuts on high makes me wonder how its legal to sell a 1000cc sportbike to anyone that can afford it. Also rode my cbf 600 for 11k km and it feels like part of my body. If you did 100.000km i cant imagine how comfortable it feels for u.

Japanesse bikes are the apex of bikes. A sport bike clocking 100k is pretty good.Definetly every bike if it stayed in lower rpms like car,they would last like them.Anyway wish they produce some high torque diesel bikes.
@PatoneLol2 ай бұрын
Problem is, naturally aspirated diesel engines are horribly inefficient and terrible on emissions - you'd need a turbocharger. Hard to fit on a production motorcycle where cost is the major limitation.
@prithviraj29432 ай бұрын
Congratulations Bro 🎉 Its really happy to see a fellow rider who takes care of his ride ❤ Its completely my opinion.. I could see that you are interested in upgrading your bike for more power and you are looking at the right direction S1000R, SF V2 & SF V4. ---------- If you are looking at SF V2 .. just skip this bike.. imo SF V4 makes much more sense because of the following: + Its a V4 (sounds exactly like a Moto GP bike) and has top end power for daysss :) + Has better low end torque and better tractability (Cruise in 3rd gear @ 50 Kmph.. without any stalling.. which is impossible in V2, need to downshift to 2nd gear) + Less engine vibration compared to V2 + Has better Tech and Dash - Negatives: More heat & Drinks a lot of fuel. - Its expensive, but hands down it is a better bike compared to V2 IMPORTANT: If you are set to get SF V4 don't buy it now(atleast wait for another 6 months) Just this week we saw the launch of new Panigale V4.. the same tech will triggle down to new SF V4. The main deal breaker here is.. the new version gets CRUISE CONTROL. Its a boon for muching miles. Also gets a new Dash which looks sick. Remaining changes are minor mechanical improvements which we can't tell the difference untill we ride old and new bike back to back. ------- If you want S1000R just go ahead and get one.. u wont regret it. Just a reminder similar to Z900 its an inline 4 the power deliver is peaky and lacks low end grunt. ------- As you have already tasted Japanese reliability.. just have a look at the following bikes: MT09 & MT10 Z900 & ZH2 ------- Test drive all the bikes and decide which suits your liking better.
