Rings in high level games always drive me insane. I once made a ring with 6 pieces of my own, that made a Very interesting spawn point, but I can't see rings as a good thing.

In 'Play Hive Like a Champion,' I coined the phrased 'Rings are bad!' But top-level play has shown that when properly used, Rings are Good! It sounds like you need the book!
