Does anyone else have issues with uploading images from phone? Its taking FOREVER to upload the images I've got on the phone from the dashcam when connected to my home wifi

Yes there have been some bugs being worked out since the last firmware update. I really need to do a new video. Update. The hivemapper should upload in the background now

Since your phone has to connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi, are you able to use it while doing something like DoorDash or would you need a second phone?

You can do door dash at the same time since the Hivemapper app can run in the background. I use it when I am doing Amazon flex with no problem. However their next software update will make it so the phone is unneeded!

I try not to touch a road for seven days and have seven different ways to go everywhere. I try only to go on the light pink and am always aware of where I’m driving

Would you recommend the 649$ camera over the 300$. ? Is there a significant difference in rewards

Zero difference in rewards. The capabilities are different for if you want to use them for additional purposes beyond the Hivemapper project. So if rewards is the goal get the inexpensive one 😊

I can’t post a screenshot here. However you’ll notice that on the bottom of the screen there are four buttons. The one you are asking about is second from the left. Looks like a trifolded paper

How do you use wifi and upload same time

The phone connects to the camera via wifi to download from cam to phone. The uploads can happen simultaneously via cell service. You’ll need to enable that in the settings

I just set mine up a couple days ago. And I'm wondering which of your cameras earns more. If you're pointing it to the side is that earning as much as the forward facing one.

After testing I ditched the side camera. At best it only earns about 20% of what a forward facing camera does. I started a fleet and gave it to someone else. Even rev sharing 50/50 I’ll make more than having a side view

@@hailtheiam oh that's great to know! Ya I want to get another and put it in my wife's car. But doesn't want to deal with connecting the wifi all the time and having the app open...maybe once she sees the money she won't be so lazy

@@Theprez1234 try it out yourself to really get familiar with it. I put one in my wife’s car. Ideally (and they are still working out bugs) it should auto connect the wifi and start mapping automatically. Sometimes I have to bring the app up to jump start it

@@hailtheiam ya so far I can't get it to auto connect on either of my phones but it's no biggie. And I always open the app right away. I'm noticing it's connecting faster today. Maybe it's just getting more use to it. Also do you turn it off at night. I read it doesn't give any rewards once it's dark out

Can it run from usb powerbank instead of 12v cigarette lighter ?

Personally I have never tried. I did have a friend that did that but he had a pretty beefy power bank. I also have seen some people that hard wired directly into their vehicle. Long story short I would avoid if possible

Some people have been able, depending on the specific power output of your USB connection. I personally would not risk it.. @@hailtheiam

My.lights are blue, not green.. does that mean something is wrong?

No, everything is good. After a recent update they changed the colors of the lights. So now all three should be blue. The top one now will change to green if you don’t offload the images on the camera and will indicate that the camera is full

If you haven’t already done so join the discord from the Hivemapper settings page. The devs are literally online all the time and you can get help with any problem in minutes

How you update the device?

@@Liger11111 very frustrating this one. First make sure your phone is connected to wifi. Then go to the settings tab on the Hivemapper app. Next to the “firmware version” you’ll see it start to have a percentage because it’s auto downloading. After it hits 100% go connect to your dashcam and wait for the phone to auto update the dashcam. Then you need to power cycle the dashcam. Restart the app as well. Reconnect to the dashcam and hit settings to confirm it updated. If it didn’t repeat the steps. When helping someone in IRL I had to repeat the process five times before her dashcam updated

@@user-ue6yc9kr8i that depends on if you drive the exact same route every day or if the route can vary. I think it may still be worth it but if you don’t do the same route every day it will be more worth it

If you have the new BEE camera it is automatically uploaded. However if you have the HDC or the S you’ll need to download from the camera to your phone. Once that’s complete it will automatically upload from your phone when you’re in wifi

The only other option to get them quicker is eBay for $2000 for one cam. If you do that route make sure the listing is “in hand” so you don’t accidentally buy someone’s pre order and have to wait
