recently i went to see my 5th grade sister participate in her soccer game when to my surprise I saw Dignan suiting up for the other team. When they kicked the ball off, Dignan hip checked the girl in front of him and picked up the ball with his bare hands. @@slawaxas Smells Like Teen Spirit is certainly the song from 1991, if not the 90s as a whole, that’s had the greatest impact culturally and possibly the most longevity, but I think it’s too aggressive by early 90s pop standards for it to have hit #1 so I guessed correctly. I guarantee you that the 5 songs that were higher than it are probably shit no one remembers (except I’m Too Sexy as that was the same year, possibly even on the charts at the same time).

Since basically everyone watched the music video instead of streaming the individual song it didn't have the momentum to shake a radio juggernaut like Maroon 5. Billboard changed their formula to account for KZbin streams after Gangam Style to save face.
