Thanks for this great review the only real thing missing is the noise review and comparison to its closest competition entry to mid level helmets like the nolan n80-8 scorpion exo 1400 evo and shark skwal i3 / d skwal and Spartan RS. My suggestion would be for you guys to have a similar system to champion helmets where they actually have a db meter inside the helmet to measure the noise levels at the same 130kmh speed on the highway for all helmets they test and if you do that these reviews will be worth more than gold as that is the main reason thousands watch their reviews to get the quietest possible helmets for touring on the market like the hjc rpha 91 with only 95db(best in the world) or my personal rpha 70 with only 99db which is why i was hoping you guys would help me decide with this info or something similar if this helmet is worth upgrading from my rpha 70 because of potentially having lower noise levels and its 2206 certification. Now that I've watched all of yours and all of their reviews on all the helmets I mentioned I learned the i70 (previous generation of this i71) the scorpion exo 1400 evo and Spartan rs are the quietest entry level helmets of 2023 matching my rpha 70s 99db at 65mph so I will be gladly moving on to one of these i71 eventhough it is a lot heavier but trusting that that fact will impact its safety rating on sharp a few years from now when they finally test it and it'll have a solid 5 stars (vs my disappointing rpha 70 3stars) as all of them 2206 ones should and confirm my theory that this is at the moment the most practical (ratchet buckle) quietest, best ventilated and safest sharp5* helmet for under £200 or £150 with black friday deals in europe. I was really tempted by the safety led lights of the lighter skwal i3 but its 101db are too loud, the ventilation is subpar and the chin curtain rubbs and hurts my face/nose every single time I put it on soo... Having that information really made me buy a European i71 for less than £150 with a practical ratchet buckle and only 99db windnoise or less as its predecessor i70 helmet scored. See my point? Better reviews and prices make more sales. Keep up the good work I'd love to see you up your review game in the future. Kr Dr. Marco.

I recently bought one of these and love the helmet unless I'm using my intercom system. If I open the top vent, it makes a very obnoxious noise that will make you wish you never bought the helmet. I have to use it with the top vent closed. That said, aerodynamics, look and feel are great.

I saw a review online and the tester easily mounted a cardo unit on top of the lid of their system on the left side it looked stylish and a relatively clean look so I believe that is a non issue...

looks like the visor cracked when you locked it with your glove on. Did I saw that wrong?

Apologies, I don't understand your question. The visor lock did click when I squeezed it between thumb and forefinger, if that's what you mean. Cheers, Tony

I didn't have any problem with noise, but it's not something we routinely cover as noise can be caused by so many other factors than the shape of the helmet. So while something could be noisy/average/quiet for me, in my circumstances, it may be very different for you. I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony

When are you reviewing HJC F71. It's also not yet got a SHARP rating.

Hopefully we'll get to that helmet very soon. I expect it to be a while before it gets a SHARP rating. There have been some quick ratings released, but on the whole it takes a year or more from a helmet's launch to see a SHARP rating. Cheers, Tony

Hi, do you prefer this or the i70? Is the fit comparable? I tries the i71 and it fit my head shape pretty well. Thinking of maybe going for the i70 if the fit is the same. And maybe sizing up as you did. Thanks alt for the video!

I found the fit of the i70 unusual for HJC and I had to go up a size, to large. I didn't need to do that with the i71, so my experience would suggest the fit of the two helmets isn't the same. Cheers, Tony

Just ordered an i71 and the HJ-38 visors fit it.

The visor code is HJ-38 and so far it's only used on the i71. There are no tinted visors listed by the UK importer for this helmet yet. Cheers, Tony

Nice review! ❤ With this helmet if it is cold weather the eyes glasses will become foggy? If I open the chin vent, it will be ok with eyes glasses in the cold.

I couldn't say for sure as I didn't wear this helmet with spectacles in the cold, but riders who wear spectacles tell me they will mist up when worn with most helmets when used in those conditions. Sorry I can't be of more use, and thanks for the kind comment on the review. Cheers, Tony

Hi, it's been too long since I wore the N808 to give a back-to-back on those direct issues, but I felt more positively in general about the i71 than I did about the Nolan. As always, comfort is a personal issue and what works for me may not for you. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

Unless there's something that really stands out then we don't cover noise in these reviews. It depends on so many factors that my experience can't possibly relate to the conditions in which you ride, and there's the additional factor of what I consider to be quiet/noisy and how that can differ from your opinion on that. @@Yankee7943 Thank you for that info as I have the i70 and it can be noisy on the freeway so I was hoping this was better. I also have the RPHA 70 and that is much quieter but more bulky. Will stick with the i70 around town and the RPHA 70 for the Freeways. 👍

I bought a scooter and bought this helmet.... uuuh... idk if that was such a good idea. But hey! At least i can take it on a motorcycle if i upgrade to one 😂

This helmet will be absolutely fine on a scooter. In my opinion you need the same protection as on a motorcycle, so there's no reason to avoid helmets like this. Cheers, Tony

I didn't have any issues on the bikes I rode with this helmet, but we don't cover it in detail in our reviews because noise levels depend on so many variable factors that what is quiet for me may be terrible for you, and vice versa. Cheers, Tony

Too heavy, no emergency pads, proprietary intercom, no antifog on the visor.... just too many negatives for this one. I look forward to a review of the F71 to see if those things are still issues on that lid.
