HK 45C vs Springfield XDM Elite 10MM Compact.

I have both pistols. The only difference; I have the LEM trigger version of the HK45C, giving me approximately five pounds of trigger pull. The XDM Elite has an unbelievable trigger. I think it is the smoothest striker fire I've ever felt on an out-of-the-box pistol. Certainly smoother than any of my seven Glocks (which I dearly love also). I have three HK's and they are generally my EDC, because I carry appendix 90% of the time and being able to thumb check the hammer gives me great comfort. Just watching out for Big Jim and the Twins... 😁

Thank you for the nice review. I own the HK compact and love it. I also own a HK 45 full-size and a P30sk (9mm). They are gorgeous, high-quality firearms. The absolute reliability and the ergonomic controls are what really stand-out. Great engineering.

It’s early but I think the Springfield will win. I LOVE HK - but love 10mm more. More capacity and lower price…. Did you keep the flared mag well on your XDM?

I currently own a HK45c and a HK USP 45 compact and I love them both. I was always a 1911 guy and started shooting again after 5 year absence and I bought a HKVP9 and the SK models, but missed 45ACAP. So I ended up trading both of them for the USP 45 compact and 45c and some cash to me and I couldn’t be happier. The build quality is superb and the history of their development for the military adds to the lore of owning them. They also shoot great. Enjoyed your video.

I have both of these HK is V7 LEM version, love that trigger. I carry both with no issues and shoot them both very well. Decision to carry which depends on where I will be and how many other people will be around. Both rounds hit hard and will be effective. Thanks for the review.

Man I can't wait for the premier of this video. As much as I love HK, I think I'm going with the XDM Elite. I prefer striker fired pistols, the trigger is better in my opinion, better grip texture, iron sights are better, the slide serrations are grippier (comes in handy if I want to mount an optic), has a button release, and a magwell to make mag insertion easier. I wished it didn't come with a grip safety though (I've gotten over it after trying to carry a 1911, but I still don't prefer it). I'm curious to see what your thoughts are once I see the video after the premier! Have a great weekend.

Wouldn't a comparison with the XDm Elite 45 acp been more appropriate? The weird drop off at the back of the grip is so the extended mags with sleeves will fit.

I have the hk45C v7 and I love it. Extremely reliable and well built. But i found this video looking for a comparison to the Xdm elite compact 10mm because i want one. Thanks for sharing. I’m definitely switching up to the Xdm. I want a 10mm.

I wish you would have done a comparison between the Elite model in 45acp vs HK 45acp. Kind of like comparing Apples with Oranges. I bought the Springfield 3.8 Elite in 45acp and surprisingly it may be my overall best carry/shooter I own of the polymer striker fired pistols in my collection. I have never bought a HK probably because they are IMHO way overpriced

Without reading the prior comments I would mention the XTM Elite (with the magwell removed) can be mated with increased capacity factory magazines that come with dedicated grip sleeves depending upon which backstrap insert you prefer: this gives one what is essentially the full-sized grip. My 2nd comment is that I recently acquired the 45acp OSP version (which more directly compares with the most excellent HK Compact) for $359!

The HK has the safety system of the hammer which i like. But the XDM has more features that I like. Optic ready, capacity to hold more bullets, able to get mags that hold even more bullets, looks more sporty, and it comes in 10MM. Xdm takes the win for me. Thanks for the review.

Hammer fired HK, can’t go wrong! I like the XD but the HK45C will outlast it and to me the option of cocked and locked with the manual safety is a big plus.

To be fair, the HK45C should last forever it costs like almost twice the price of the XD, but I agree with having a manual safety and being hammer fired, that's why I love my CZ PO7. I think the XD Elite will last a while to, its built like a tank, love the threaded barrel and the grip safety and its an accurate shooter. Can't go wrong with either, that H&K is on my top five list.

H&K are highly over priced and overrated. Nothing special. You could buy the XDm Elite, a great Red Dot and 500 rounds of ammo for what you'll get the the H&K for, and function wise they are both pretty damm close. I'll take the XDm any day.

I respectfully disagree. HKs are extremely well built and reliable. Consumers are paying for the incredible engineering and the well-known & consistent reliability. They are certainly expensive. However, I'm curious as to why you feel that they are "highly over-priced and over-rated"? Do you own any? (I own three handguns & a rifle. I've found that their quality is undeniable. I was willing to pay for that and am considering a few more models of their firearms).
