The way this family of guns work requires force when closing the bolt to ensure the locking safely.

Its good for initial reliability and ensures you don't accidentally ride the bolt with your hand, but it also slowly wears down on the bolt handle catch notch. That's is fine for HK, because they get to sell more forends to replace the worn out notch, but bad for anyone not looking to regularly spend the money on replacement parts. Most militaries or police units simply teach a method like inserting the magazine then pulling back sharply on the charging handle or locking it back, inserting a mag and then pulling back, down and letting go of the charging handle.

Strangely, in BFH there are four slappable hk weapons (mp5 navy, mp5k, mp5sd, ptr-91) but none of them have the slap (the ptr-91 has more of a “hit” motion with the hand in a fist, the mp5 navy and mp5sd have a gentle motion with the thumb, and the mpk5 just racks the bolt normally without locking it back first).

Go to Hackwell's channel, you can hear all the voice lines including cancelled ones.

When I was training at the shooting range with the MP5 I of course did the slap (feels satisfying af). Gun instructor came to me and told me no more HK slapping since it wears down the mechanism A LOT.

That instructor is wrong. It doesn't wear anything down any faster than normal operation and HK themselves say to do the slap. It's necessary for the bolt to properly seat.
