HARRY DEWOLF class should replace the whole Kingston class, it is superior in every aspect. It has a remote operated main gun, kingston has a man operated gun. It has an helicopter hangar allowing it to carry anti sub chopper, kingston has none. It has 2 mission baies, kingston has none. It has a higher cruise speed. It can travel light iced water, kingston cannot.

Well they really can't, the Kingston Class has a MCM role while the HDW Class has none. While the HDW Class has a anti sub helo, it can't carry torpedoes. The Kingston Class also has a ice rating and hold the record for the furthest North a RCN ship has travelled. The Kingston Class cost to operate at sea is pennies while the HDW is a gas pig.

If you are going to sport a mere 25mm, at the very least put it into a triple or quad gun mount system. You have ability to host maritime helicopter. Have the decency to protect it & your ship-crew with one SAM system. These two measures are very basic self defense options. This ship is going to be alone in artic waters where hostile UAVs are a real viable threat in recent years.

This is a constabulary vessel, not a warship. It's quite adequately armed for that role.

So. It's just a moving target in WW3. What a superb defence investment! Your thought process is equal to using Stats Canada archived data, to disarm Canadian police officers of thier sidearm, because, chances are, they will never need it. No other arctic nation has such poorly armed littoral naval vessels.
