I think everyone loves Ringo. This is a great song. There is a charming, lovely video out there of Peter Frampton performing this song in honor of Ringo's 80th birthday. It is beautifully performed in Peter's apt as It was during Covid (if I remember correctly). Also, I know you already featured Ringo singing "Photograph", but when he performed it at the "Concert for George", it was very touching, a real tearjerker 💔

Ringo was an underrated drummer & singer. Starr's playing style emphasized feel over technical skill. He occasionally sang lead vocals with the Beatles usually for one song on each album, including "Yellow Submarine", "With A Little Help From My Friends" & "I Wanna Be Your Man". He also wrote and sang the Beatles' songs "Don't Pass Me By" & "Octopus's Garden". He also had a great solo career with the songs "Photograph", "You're Sixteen" & "Back Off Boogaloo".

Underrated? He is a rock icon of epic proportions, despite any singing or drumming deficiencies. He could care less what any critic might say. Who cares about that? A member of the #1 band of all time on earth. Mult-multi-multi-millionaire. There are 10,000 better drummers and 10,000 better singers, but who cares? He's laughing all the way to the bank while you waste your time with ratings.

Biz, you gotta do a full deep dive into the Beatles. Do like you did with Zeppelin. Start off with their first album and run right through to their last. Others on KZbin have done it, and you should definitely do it. The Beatles are the biggest selling music act of all time, and nobody else even comes close (Elvis is a distant 2nd, then Garth Brooks at #3, Michael Jackson at #4, then Led Zeppelin at #5). You should do it! It would be EPIC! Peace

I always felt like this album represented John, Paul, and George helping Ringo adjusting to being a solo artist. They're all on the album, writing him songs, playing parts, even Paul on kazoo on one track.

Ringo was the only member of the group to have all four Beatles on a solo record but no more than three at a time on a track. The album art for Ringo Rama is really cool too. Go see him if you ever get the chance! Folks that give him a bad rap, I politely remind them the band didn’t take off until he joined and he did marry a Bond girl. ❤

There was no Pop Music as we think of it today in the '60s and '70s. There was Rock 'n Roll, and tradition music or standard songs. Most of what you think of as '60s Pop wasn't considered Pop Rock. It was just considered Rock. The Beatles and other bands started making more serious, thoughtful music and with lyrics that dealt with more than relationships, but still with a Rock and Roll edge (electric guitars, pounded piano chords, heavy drum beat), Rock and Roll music became Rock Music. When Rock began branching out with heavier sounds, flashier leads (bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple), bands like Pink Floyd, offering more progressive, ambient influenced sounds..., styles called Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Glam Rock were recognized. What had been just Rock, began to be called easy listening music, Pop Rock. or soft rock.
