Building a ship model of the HMS PEGASUS (1776) in scale 1:64. Kit manufactured by the Italian company Amati. Here I share my personal impressions of the kit and results.
HMS Pegasus was the sixth of 25 Swan Class ship rigged sloops ordered by the Admiralty between 1766 and 1780. Built at Sheerness Dockyard, Pegasus was launched on December 27th, 1776.

I have to admit, I am so jealous of people who can do this. I consider myself pretty good at technical building, but when it comes to the artsy bits, I couldn't draw a decent looking stick figure to save my life. Very nicely done.

Only use for the PE brass I can see would be to be a mask over the gilding color, so a person could then spray the background color on. Maybe.

Yes, you could use this as a stencil if the PE were nothing but "Hodge podge". While on the friezes of that time, plant curls, armor and regalia were painted...

Оригінально фризи розписували рослинними завитками, на них відображали різні види озброєння і регалії того часу. А не оті "каляки-маляки" з латуні з якимись гномиками і клювами птахів...

I love your ship building. Your models looks like real, and is truly beautiful. Im totally new in this, what ship do u recommend to start with, when i have no experience what so ever? I want one day to build a gallion or something, but i know this ship will not lok good at my experience level..

In general, NO - you СAD build a galleon as the first model! My first model was also a galleon. And I can definitely tell you that building a large model is much easier technologically than all those small kits for beginners. Because the manufacturer calculates the complexity by the number of parts, and not by the construction process and technology. I am currently building a Viking ship, which the manufacturer indicated as for beginners and I already cursed everything when I decided to build it, my hands just fall off - after such a first model, a person who decided to try his abilities in this hobby - will definitely decide that this hobby is not for him! Whereas my galleon, I built with ease and pleasure! Therefore, choose what you want, you will build it with twice as much zeal as what will be imposed on you! And if you have any questions, you can always ask for advice here under any video...
