So you basically mean you can have thousands of crores but the money you earn from that shouldn't be taxed? also when you speak about Interest, in case of super senior citizens, income upto 5L is always exempt and Interest upto Rs 50,000 is allowed as deduction in addition to the already available limit. even parts your medical expenses is allowed as deduction.

I have been staying in North America for the past 4 years and I had exactly the same reasons that you have mentioned for leaving India. Trust me I was wrong. Now all I think about is coming back to India due to extreme expenses due to inflation here, seeing uncultured kids, easy drugs access, terrible education, terrible healthcare, gun violence and much more. Would definitely recommend you to think 100 times before moving out of India. If we think that there are corrupt politicians only in India then we are extremely wrong. There is way worse corruption here but the only reason we don’t see it, is because these countries are good at marketing themselves. Remember, grass is always greener on the other side.

Makes sense. But, the same shit will come up in abroad in different forms. Just that the shits in India look more poor and are at inflection point, and are more popular. I have lived in USA and I have seen pros and cons of both the places. Immigrants people in USA gain a pride of moving abroad eventually but they spend a highly depressive and lonely lives. Like sense of non belongingness stays and eventually one gets used to loneliness out of comfort zone.

​@@oneangle I am not for or against any political party. I know of many in family and friends circles, who pay more tax than what most freshers earn as CTC. They get absolutely no benefit in return. No waivers, no subsidies. It is asymmetrical when compared to Business class and Low income class. The upper middle class (below rich and super rich) are the more financially harassed demographics- they have very little say electorally, socially, in terms of security & absolutely disrespected. They are made to hate themselves for reaching those levels after all the hard work and sacrifice in life. All political parties alike, want "number of votes" and so prioritize the lower middle income, rural, poor, farmers (non salaried class) and the Industrialists and Businessmen (again non salaried class). Salaried class, particularly those making above average are at a disadvantage remaining within India. In the next few decades (as it was in past 2 decades), they will pay Trillions of Dollars in Direct Personal Taxes (other than Taxes like GST on alost everything), which will subsidize the minorities (by religion, caste), freebies to lazy socialists, farmers, waive loans off the rich industrialists. In return they will get 000 from the successive Govts.

Worth it if you are a HNI, one of my friend owns a solar power company with projects in Canada and Africa. He has moved to Dubai. He can save all the profits from abroad in uae tax free. When he retires he can park some wealth in Canada where he has PR and some in Dubai and bring money which he needs back to India .

Not only rich, other wise also Indians are leaving as and when they get an opportunity. I am not rich, but I migrated because I was not happy with the way things were going in India. And after my last visit to India which was last year I am all the more happy with my decision to move out. I was a great believer in the current regime, however after living through almost 7 years under the current regime I realized things were not going to change for better, as all the political parties are the same. India will never be able to get rid of corruption, lawlessness, chaos, pollution, encroachments, slums, fanaticism (try voicing your concern against even a corporator in your area and see the results), utter disregard to others safety and well-being etc. I will be glad to be proved wrong some day.

People encroaching lands and when police comes to stop them , they attack police. Roads broken within a week or a month, highest road accidents and deaths but no control of driving and management. People fighting in the name of caste religion and Politicians do the same for vote bank. Every political rally is abusive and everyone does it. Rape and death threats in front of camera and if you've money, you're safe. Everytime protests riots and people attacking each other because of religion and politics. Lawyers and police beating punching each other outside courts. Police wants money to even register cases. Your own land can be encroached if you don't keep an eye. Builders making bad houses or running Away after taking money and not giving any houses. No proper drainage systems is most of the country and you can complain and no one listens. I can tell a lot more. This list is endless.

My entire family lives outside India. The only reason I came to India is for education. My parents wanted me to learn to survive in highly competitive environment. It was hard but I managed to do it and will be going back once I finish my studies. Better infrastructure and better environment. And someone mentioned pollution in the comments, its so severe that people living here dont even understand. The first thing i notice after stepping out of the flight is the poor air quality (of New Delhi). If you want to setup a buisness then stay in India, there is ALOT of growth awaiting in almost all industries, that would require some connections. But if you want just a good job and live a peaceful life then try to move out of India.

Social Life is great, we form a group of families and then go on BBQ picnic every weekend in different parks, this depends on YOUR social skills. The only reason some are treated badly is because someone forgot to teach them the cultural ethics. Since you are not in your own country you have to adjust to a lot of things that you consider normal. I haven't encountered any bad treatment.

Paying taxes in India is pointless especially for the General category. Rich people would certainly prefer not to stay here and pay taxes as they get zero benefits from the govt. In India all that taxpayers get is harassment, horrible infrastructure, dysfunctional judiciary, discrimination against general category at all levels, corruption, pollution and several other maladies. There is a lot of discussion and media coverage at the national level about HNI moving abroad and drainage of money along with them. Even much larger money drainage is going on with youth moving outside India as students. Estimated 2 lakh students move outside India (especially from North India). Initial outflow is 20-25 lakh per student. Later when they settle down, their parents start selling each and every asset here to support their children in buying houses, cars and what not. Each student is draining more than 1 crore and guess how much money 2 lakh students each year will be draining. This issue has little national coverage..

Rather it is the opposite, parents keep on selling properties here and ultimately join their children abroad as permanent citizens. It was true with an earlier generation who were sending money back home to build new homes here and buy farming land here in Punjab. Akshat ji, My view is bit different for example 1 Near to my house there is only RELIANCE FRESH and maximum things i purchase from mom and pop kirana store in delhi and vegetable i purchase from small shops on roads coz the quality of things in reliance fresh is not great and i still remember when MALL BUSINESS was about to enter india there were lot of hue and cry from small kirana stores that they will eat up their business but that is not the scenario anymore.

One of the main benefits to living in India is the low cost of living. Yes, there is pollution and traffic and all those not so good things but I can live in a good house, have domestic help, have food delivered through zomato, have groceries delivered through blinkit, everything else through amazon, Ola/Uber/Metro for transport, work from home, have a great lifestyle, be in the top 10% in terms of salary, save a lot of money. If I go to the US, it is very hard to have a similar lifestyle.

Hello , I live in a village in Punjab. Here , the state govt. is offering free electricity, free wheat grains , loans with no re-payment liability , free water , no or meagre taxes and duties , pensions , etc. But , to which I really condemn these filthy schemes and free programmes. The reason being that this free culture is making people careless and lazy creatures and secondly for every thing free , someone else is paying heavy taxes. That's why metros and big cities citizens were made to pay heavy taxes and the money is showered upon the villagers. Why? Because , today also 60% of , or more , voters reside in rural areas and they were the game changers during elections. The only thing which develops in rural areas nowadays , as per my own perspective , is the blind races of constructing and maintaining the religious places and structures belonging to various different cults and religious beliefs! People in abroad would send here lakhs of dollars for their religious monuments than for the schools , colleges , drinking water and sanitisation , etc. But , only this kind of society suits the politicians and they were programming us in alike way 😔. Only doing a job and working responsibly would make our nation ' A Great Nation' 🤗

I am Indian staying in Europe, came here when I was 25 and I'll leave when I'll be 34. So like 4 yrs later. I earned well what I could have got back in India at my age, but every penny I saved I invested back in India. I truly believe India is the future I am young so wanted to earn a bit, travel like crazy and make my life financially better. But honestly I don't see any country to settle, than India. I like my culture and I want to give the same to my future child. Don't want to give the child identity crisis. For me it worked because I was very young when I came in Europe, when you get your kids in the school outside and once they get used to that lifestyle its difficult to come back. Me and my wife are still working on our goals, once done we are coming back. Also to make a note most of the Westerner countries dont actually give the facilities as per your taxes they have the systems built many years ago, because they exploited many countries. Look at UK once their loot money is gone, they are on the verge of destruction.

My wife and I contemplated leaving India several times. Recently we shifted from Outram lines North Delhi to South ex. I have few comments regarding the flight fare comparison at the start of the video , as I feel the comparison was incorrect. As i have lived and worked in singapore as well so I can say that cost of flight per km is less as compared to India , no doubt in that . but the price is less because of following reasons . 1> Both Singapore and Bali are an Island , so most common way of traveling is via flight only since its most common way of travel lots of people travel and demand is high , which means flights are mostly 100% occupied and hence overall cost of fuel and aircraft company expense comes down 2> Distance is more as Akshat mentioned , as distance increases air fare usually cost less . for example cost of traveling of mangal yaan was 7rs/km , so i can comfortably say that cosy of goinf to mars from india is cheaper than cost of flight from singapore to bali , but that comparision will be incorrect right ? flight from delhi to singapore costs 11000 ( 6000 km) for same dates which akshat checked , and singapore to bali cost 6600 ( 2500 km ) . so travel to singapore from delhi is cheaper . then delhi to hyderabad . hence comparison was incorrect

If you are filthy rich and some of the accumulated wealth was acquired without paying proper taxes to a country, I can understand the motivation for some individuals to leave the country. But if you have decent money, I don't see a reason to leave India. If you are wealthy in India, it is so affordable to have a driver and people to take care of household tasks like cooking. It's much more expensive in places like the USA. Just compare the property tax in India versus the USA - there's no comparison. If you need a decent-sized house for a family of 3 to 5, your monthly (yes, monthly) property tax in the USA could be 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees or more. Health insurance premiums could be $1500 or more if you have kids and no support from your employer. A 4-year engineering degree could cost you $100,000 to $200,000, though scholarships can bring the cost down. Now, imagine someone with 2 to 3 kids! Compare the federal, state, county, and community taxes, among others, for an IT engineer making a six-digit salary in the USA with an Indian counterpart. Compare the cost of hiring an electrician for basic one-hour services at your house. What are the chances of a wealthy guy in India painting his house or mowing the lawn? In the USA, it is quite common.

Problems for well to do people in India are : 1) Jealousy and Communal tension : In India if you are successful ( have a nice house, car, good clothes, good food, etc etc) the bad neighbors will cut your water supply, electricity, gang up and harass you etc. Then add the caste, religion factor to it and it gets worse. This situation is everywhere from neighborhoods, markets, gov offices etc. 2) High tax and High levels of corruption : From getting licences, to permissions, to bribes , then discrimination , than bullying by local politicans or thier stooges etc.

India has its own pros and cons for HNIs. This is because large population income thershold is below taxable income. so top 5 % people have to bear more burden. The way india is moving with digital payments and more people comes under income tax umbrella HNI burden will get less, But It will take atleast one decade or more. India has its benefits also for HNIs like they get food and grossery at affordable price, they get house maid for dishwashing , house cleaning, drivers, full day babysitter, security, cooks, etc. which they cant afford in developed countries unless they UNIs. Most cars as affordable as developed countries , like BMW, VW, TOYOTA, Hyundai, JLR etc. In india you are paying one time in 15 years for registration of vehicle where as outside inida you have to pay every year for the registration of vehicle. Most developed countries any surgery with government medical facility , you have to wait for 6 months to 3 years in queue for you number. Dentist are way costly than india. Its not all rosy what you are thinking from India.

What? Income tax burden is just increasing slowly and slowly. Cars are affordable ? A BMW 3 series will cost you almost 70 lac on road in India, the same car is around 32-38 lacs in most developed countries. The annual registration is not full registration, it's a tiny fee. Cars in India are among the highest taxed in the world now. Govt. healthcare doesn't exist in India for anyone who is not willing to stand in queues for a day, most people end up paying out of pocked to private healthcare centers which are again no way cheap in India now. Except, ability to hire maids, cooks etc. India is more costly now compared to most developed countries due to taxes and black money.

It’s still just one facet that you’ve explained .Couple of pointers here: 1) Try working on a math and see if lowering the taxes to just about 5% for people earning over ₹50lakh per annum - will this increase Govt revenues over a period of time as economy turns more and more white? 2) We as a society are still averse to respecting development of common good/ infrastructure/service through payment of taxes but would like to donate to charity 3) Labour reforms which encourage firms to employ more people - drop obligations of EPF /ESI/Health care, pension & gratuity obligations- instead let employees choose their options and instruments - is this even possible? 4) Zero interest on savings account with any bank - private or nationalized, feasible? 5) As a developing economy we have the obligations of a welfare State as well- patriotic fervour is required- come to think of it: if Govt had sought public donations to develop a national highway would it have received funds? If you look from a different perspective , you should not only grow rich but enable the country to grow rich otherwise you’re not patriotic at all! So Akshay, you’re patriotic :)- and the rich leaving India are not patriotic - isn’t it! In a globalized world, should'nt you feel its just a choice to settle down in any part of the world? IN our own country, people from North settle down in South like Bangalore/Hyderabad /Chennai. So take it up to the global space and see! There is a lot of food for thought here!

Changed to what? IMO the System will always be debt based. An equity based system requires immense trust and transparency. Otherwise the economy grinds to a halt.
