All looks great. Thanks for putting this together. Details can make or break a scene. Your street running scene is a good example of parked cars looking realistic while "driving" cars tend to look fake.

Actually never thought about that, makes sense though. I had just put them out of the train's way for the video, lol.

As others have already said great ops video. Also impressed with the weathered rolling stock. That Golden West boxcar looks absolutely prototypicaly faded to a different color like I've seen them. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, the guy that did that GW box car said that was some of his best work (at the time at least).

I also like the view of the tank cars, the viewing angle when switching the box factory has a good view of the siding and main, helps to demonstrate the switching operation.

International Paper! I go to the one in Wooster, Ohio all the time. It is the same set up 5 in 5 out but constantly needs one re spotted and its usually in the middle of the empties going out. I guess they get different thickness of paper and use them as needed.

No idea, it's just music from the Video Editing Software. Most come with some generic music to choose from. I try to pick decent stuff, but they keep switching it out on me.

Excellent weathering on the rolling stock. Nothing detracts from a model video realism quicker than fresh out of the box rolling stock. Your mock ups really help visualize and give a feel for what is going to be. Hope you keep having fun with your layout and post a few videos once and awhile.

Great ops running video. Thanks for sharing. I like the fact that you describe what type of locomotives you are using and what you have done to them. What ditch lights did you use on UNION PACIFIC GP60 #1105. Thanks for you reply.

The Walthers Proto GP60s actually came with non-working ditch lights as a detail part. I used those and added LED's.

Another awesome video! Wow you're kickin butt on the speed at which you are modeling, it just seems like last week when you were doing bench work. Great job bud. Your shout out video is downloading now, late sorry had some issues. I love the scene at the 20 minute mark on the street running section, and of course at the 40 second mark of the train entering the street running section from the other side. The action at ball street is cool, I can tell that will be a focal point to your layout when all the scenery is done, love the eye level shots, it looks very realistic. Keep up the awesome work, Dave B.

Thank you very much Dave! The street running has so much potential, I have so much planned for the that section. I have to get those pesky street grades in first and make sure she runs smoothly through there before I can really get going on that section.

How do you weather your rolling stock?!? It’s looks amazing!
@VSLAModelRR2 жыл бұрын
I assume you are asking about the tagged up boxcars. Most of them were purchased from some FB groups or commissioned to an Artist who did some from me a while back. I have done some of the tank cars, hoppers, and locomotives. Car weathering/tagging is something I will dive into more on my own, as I get more of the layout built. I have a bunch of car projects planned down the road. For now, I am 'rolling' with what I have.

No, actually most of the graffiti on those cars other people did. I did the locomotives and some cars but most of those cool boxcars were purchased like that. I plan to do some of my own and really get into it once I get more of the layout and scenery completed.

Tell me about UP1105, the GP60 -- make, model, etc. The GP60 is my all-time favorite locomotive, but I cant find good models in UP paint.
@drubarlow2 жыл бұрын
Never mind, I finished watching the video and found where you said it was "Walthers Proto." I have seen one Proto 2000 UP GP60 on eBay, but they aren't the same quality as Walthers Proto IMO.
@VSLAModelRR2 жыл бұрын
@@drubarlow Correct, the Walters Proto are newer and better than the old Life-Like Protos. The numbers to look for are 1955 and 1964 (sound) or 2000 and 1946 for no sound. Cherry Creek hobbies shows having 1964 available on their website. Also they show up on ebay every now and again but be wary of the road numbers if looking for Walthers as I stated above. Mine was number 2000 and I renumbered, added ditch lights and Tsunami2 sound and a SCS speaker. My Feb layout update I talk about it a bit but basically what I just typed above
